Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! shop.bbtv.com/c...
The Cody Firearms Museum has spent many months undergoing a complete renovation and rebuilding, and is not back fully open to the public. The new layout has not just improved visibility and put the guns in better display context, but it has actually increased the number of guns on display. When I last filmed at Cody, most of the really interesting unusual stuff was back in the vaults - but during filming this past week we had to take a remarkable number of guns out of displays to film. This is a great improvement - the Cody museum was always good, but this new design has made it the best firearms museum in the United States, in my opinion.
Visiting? The CFM is part of the 5-museum complex that is the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in beautiful Cody, Wyoming:

Ian, it might be a good idea to get a polarized filter (specifically a circularized one, you can tune those) for your camera if you plan on doing more of these museum clip, it significantly reduces reflections and glare. Costs less than $10 and takes no space at all.

This place is beyond amazing. Not only is it a truly stellar mix of historical, cool and unique pieces; the facility itself and the way they’ve managed to showcase the collection- AND both historical and technical data- are truly superb. The staff there deserves a big thank-you for helping preserve and display the firearms, managing to present it in a useful and very digestible way, for firearms enthusiasts of all levels- from the average joe off the street, all the way up to big shots like Gun Jesus himself! The amount of intelligence and passion that goes on at the CFM really shows. Much appreciation to those who have made it all possible!

Hi Ian, I have been following your channel from the UK for some time and found your video of the Cody Firearms Museum fascinating. It’s the first time I have seen such a wide range of firearms set out in such an accessible way. Unfortunately, I think its very unlikely that I will ever be able to visit the Museum. However, I am able to visit the Royal Armouries in England and your videos from there, have given us a window into some of their firearms that I would never be able to view. With that in mind, the next time you visit them, please bring this video to their notice, if they have not seen it. Then, hopefully in the future, some of those firearms that few have seen would be accessible to a wider audience. I have enjoyed all your videos. Please keep up the good work.

THANK YOU SIR! we did the YELLOWSTONE/CODY GUNS in 2014. what a treasure of VISUAL stimulation in that whole area. i highly recommend it on ANY BUCKET LIST, even if you are NOT a gun person. the wild life of deer, antelope, elk, big horn, black bears, grizzles & the BUFFALO up close and personal was a HEART THUMPING event. i recommend at least 4 hours for the gun museum. so many toys so little time. lol.

They have an excellent collection with plenty of "forgotten weapons." It was always my favorite part of the museum. I grew up near Cody, and my family always toured the museum during their Christmas season open house. My dad was also a member, so we visited many other times. I never got tired of walking through the firearms, and it always seemed like I missed something from the last time I visited.
