Thanks for the video . I watched it 5 times already , getting ready to rebuild my front forks after a hitting a deer.

I'm sure you are very good at what you do. But, after watching "two wheel Rocco", do the front forks on a VTX 1300, his method is so much better, easier and less steps and tools. The key tool is the PVC pipe, what a game changer. He also explains the little things about the top and bottom of the spring and how to mark the top screw, so you don't cross thread it. Keep up your good work and videos. Just letting others know there are others sites out there to help you perform Maintenace on your bike.

Good video, only thing I didnt like was the music playing in the background (probably while you shot the video) then the music added to the video later.

Thanks for the video. I took everything apart my right fork tube and I noticed there are some marks in the case where the seal sets down on the inside. Will this case any leakage when I put everything back together? Everything otherwise looks great. Wish i could upload a picture. Thanks again!

It would be nice to be able to see everything you are doing and the direction the seals etc. go onto the tube.

As you pull the tubes apart, you can see the orientation of how everything goes back in the tube. I’ll keep this in mind though for a possible reshoot in the future.

Would you add a heavier spring if you are typically going to have two heavier riders on it and if so what recommendations of brand and or spec would you do

When "pressing" the seals, I can not get in in far enough to get the locking wire into the ridge on the inside to set in it place? I have been hammering on it got a while, but it seems it just wont go. Any recommendations? Thanks.

spring, washer then spacer...
@GoheenCycles7 жыл бұрын
+Dave Fe you are 100% correct. I use the factory washer before the spacer and use the thin progressive washer after the spacer. I have had a few cases that the spacer gets chewed up. Good catch because I failed to mention that.

Do you do this for a living ? I’d like to do this on my VTX. Only shops near me are HD. Would you be interested ? @goheencycles

If one of my forks started leaking 4 days ago do i have to change both? Or just the leaking one ? Also the ones that are already in are originals. A friend suggesting to try the ariete oil seals it is italian i think any info about them ? And would it be wrong to use one ariete and other left as the original oem one ? Thanks in advance

It’s best to replace both. Personally I only use oem or all balls fork seals.

Usually when one goes the other is soon to follow and always replace in pairs
