Excellent job. Friggin thing looks brand new. Im in the process of painting a toyota we have at the shop gray and blue and since they dont want me to spend time on body work just prep and paint it wont look half as good as yours.

the marks on the counter weight is in the casting of it, it is not from running into walls.

How the heck do you get that counterweight looking so good. I can do a decent job but yours is way better

I apply a thick coat of body filler, sand with 80 grit until all major defects are gone. Then I'll use a primer surfacer and sand with 240 or 400 grit to finish out the surface. Apply regular primer, then paint .

remove the panels before you power wash it, an old forklift like this is a waste of money trying to repair it, but if it was a Toyota forklift then it is worth repairing.

I believe the paint is now called unicarriers Dark Grey 23300-629G and the silver is unicarriers NFC Platinum 23300-700G.

I'm surprised you didn't just blast the entire truck. Also, I would have used Duraglas instead of Bondo - Duraglass is tenfold the product.

what about the rear axle, mast bushes, wheel bearings, brakes, here in South Africa some people "restore" a forklift and then say it is restored, all that you are doing here is just painting the machine.

Properly restoring a forklift in this condition cost more than it is worth. Sometimes people just don't want it to look like crap for the limited time it has left.
