People communicate in 2 different styles i.e. Formal and Informal. Formal communication involves a formal language that we use when we are communicating in a professional manner, for example, with colleagues or teachers, etc. This kind of communication involves proper and complete sentences, with proper transitions among them. We can't use "u" instead of "you" here. It further is structured in a way that when we are communicating with upper management then it's referred as Upward Communication, and when upper management is communicating with the employees, then its called Downward Communication and when the subordinates or colleagues of the same position are communicating then we call it as Horizontal Communication. Whereas informal communication or informal language is the one that we use with friends and family, basically in an unprofessional manner.
