Yeah and so? U think that nothing has changed in the span of 60 years? Look at how the tables have been turned, the truth now is that China is the oppressor and the chance of freedom is Uk, but with the brainwash that China did on chinese people u try to justify the oppression of China with silly things like "wEstRn cOunTrY Bad cOloNizER ,PrOtestOrs VerY BaD".With this, i dont Think that the Chinese Govt is bad in managing the country, in fact is very organized and the most efficient of the world, but u cant coerce a country and take their indipendence with force, also because its obvious that they dont want to be dominated by China

@@adhcbfqewdhjb What oppression? Look at what was going on under UK rule and compare it to now. It’s way worse under UK rule.

@@harutosunaa3881 what concerns me is the limitation of civil rights, "under" UK there was freedom of speech and there wasnt external political pressure. Now under China there is going to be manipulation of press, fixed elections, limitation to freedom of speech and extradiction, like other China provinces. It's not that big of a deal (if you don't live there), but you can't deny the obvious

@@adhcbfqewdhjb Wrong. There were limitations to free speech under British Hong Kong. Leftist journalists were imprisoned and communist or major socialist parties were banned or limited until the late 90s.

It's only double standards if they claim that colonial rule didn't involve oppression. There is no double standards here: China showed itself to be equally capable of authoritarian violent oppression.
