Great to have Mains on the show . I believe the analysis of former coaches is far superior to that of a lot of the players who comment on the game

I was at the game. After getting to 21-0, i thought ok final score around 45-10, happy days. Our issues: - not dominant enough in the loose. Richie and co would have closed that match down. - D Mac is too loose, and we suffer badly from it. - Scott Barrett doesn't seem to be vocal on the pitch, no group huddles aka Richie, Read, Whitelock. So a big gap in leadership and grind it out play. - We are mucking up good scoring chances. Why can't we camp in the opposition red zone and grind out tries anymore?

Why does Sean interrupt over the guest when the guest is obviously winding down the sentence (04:49 is a great example). It is horrendously rude to the guest and irritating to the listener. What the hell is the benefit? This isn't a one off - he does it all the time.
@wot4922

Maybe he thinks his point of view is more important than that of the guests. He could also not be listening to what the guest is saying but is instead thinking of his next question.

"Referee interference"- thats rich. World rugby needs Aus rugby to be strong. But lets all in the SH start respecting Arg- and stop treating them like bothersome street urchins. They are RWC success stories. They do wonders with very little. SA ,NZ and AUS have relatively speaking massive resources.

I think discipline is one of the major problems. Nearly every game we're getting carded multiple times. If its not cards, it's stupid penalties that could be avoided, and thats where the leadership issue comes in. Not sold on Scott Barrett. He was MIA on Saturday. Sort it out already. The decline began under hansen in 2019 and 5 years later this is where we are? Yikes

Dominance in international rugby is fickle now days. A team that’s good enough to win by 30 this week just needs to be off their game by 5% next week to lose. 1% less accurate week to week is the difference between winning and losing.

Agreed. Discipline and accuracy is costing the all blacks big time at the moment. Whether it’s penalties or cards, they are letting themselves down. The good news is those are things that can be improved. Everything else is there

@clarke1319
@clarke1319 Ай бұрын
No he didn't. He spoke of the input of the referee and TMO in todays game compared to what it used to be. His observation. He's right. It can't be disputed. Then later he spoke of the TMO not being able to sort that incident out for whatever reason, not any lack of intervention by the TMO.
@nocturnalrites1652
@nocturnalrites1652 Ай бұрын
@@clarke1319 Mains complains about interference and then implies disdain that there was no interference for the try awarded. He can't have it both ways. It just looks like he wants no tmo intervention when something goes the ABs way like the first try they scored which had an illegal blocking move from the lineout drive.

NZ has been so use to been a canter. But, if Noah got his 3 penalties he missed at Eden park 2 years ago. He only needed 1 to win the game. Then the win we got in Melbourne 2 years ago, on fulltime.

...the knockdown rule in rugby is ridiculous...even legitimate attempts at intercept are punished by a red card and 10mins in the bin...the other problem is the over emphasis on the scrum, with re-pack after re-pack then a penalty which leaves you clueless as to which way the penalty goes...rugby is getting slaughtered in Australia by league because the changes made it thar game have made it even more exciting, the six-again for example ...all the best athletes when it comes to footy in Australia play rugby league or AFL.

Mains like many others think our start was "sublime" but the reality is the terrible wallabies defence made us look good. Normal transmission kicked in after half time and we scored 3 points after half time.

u can't blame TMO/rules. NZ have done so well over the years. other teams were never as fit as them. It is now a toss up between top 5 on any given day - that's the way it should have always been but NZ were just so damn good. Arg are the real deal as well real quality there.

Listening to my fellow Kiwis is often embarrassing and sad. Maybe its their age letting them down, but we shouldnt use that as an excuse. Laurie Mains, the AB have problems, and no number of first half triea is going to camouflage the fact that there second half performances on the field, and the way its managed in the coaching box is nothing short of horrendous.

Yeah, he thinks he is Beaudan Barret, but he's nowhere near as skilled and acts like a headless chicken under pressure. He's never been an international 10 and needs to be moved on. Razor should be building youth and talent with an eye on the next RWC. Not placating his old favorites. The ship is currently sinking, needs new blood to right it!

Stop blaming the rules and the referees! How come Ireland, SA and France can be successful and handle the refs and the rules? I find it irritating that some in NZ feel the rules and the way the games is played or managed should change to suit NZ rugby.

If you think this criticism is bad then you need to watch the backlash in SA against the coaching team. And the players, meanwhile Arg were great and SA had a collective defence amnesia. Who would be a coach?

You will live a short and unsatisfied life because your religion is only 80 minutes long bro! You are also the same as an Argentinian cattle farmer who loves watching rugby especially when his national rugby team beats the currently 3 best teams in the world convincingly. The past can be illusive when your team doesn't win anymore bro and that is the writing on the wall for NZ Rugby. I always maintained that the All Blacks total forward pack this year should have been the complete Auckland Blues forward that steamrolled the Chiefs. But the inexperienced Razor picked all his mates from Canterbury that allowed Argentina & the Boks to squashed our tiny forwards to timbuck2. Nepotism never works.There you go bro! - You too!
