Күн бұрын

In this episode, host Mike Glover sits down with Greg Anderson. Greg is a former law enforcement officer with the Port of Seattle Police Department. His 8-minute Instagram video went viral, in which he called on fellow officers to consider the legality and constitutionality of enforcing strict pandemic measures and to respect citizens' constitutional rights. As a veteran of the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment, Anderson emphasized the importance of upholding individual liberties and warned of potential consequences if rights were infringed upon.
Despite initial support from his chain of command, Anderson faced termination after refusing orders to remove the video. He firmly stood by his convictions, believing that defending what is right is more important than personal consequences. Anderson aimed to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public, advocating for responsible and lawful actions that would prevent conflicts between citizens and the authorities.

“Bro I joined a gang when I was a kid, it just happened to be called 2nd Ranger Battalion” needs to go on a billboard immediately. Would be a step in the right direction for Army Recruiting & Retention

57:00 the good old combat promotion. I went from PFC to Corporal in Afghanistan because I was running a weapons squad. Got called in to the Platoon Sargents Hooch got pinned was told " if you're going to play the part better to have the rank for it"

What you said, is spot on. As an LEO you need to move around on the job doing different jobs, and responsibilities over your career. You can't allow yourself to stay in one spot and become complacent hating life.

First, I had no idea Black Rifle Coffee was a podcast. I thought it was just a conservative brand. I have to comment on the coffee. My husband makes me a cup of coffee every morning. A few months ago he switched to Black Rifle Coffee. I shit you not, it is the best coffee I've ever had at home. It's also far better than any drive-thru coffee you can get. If your podcast is half as good as the coffee, I'll subscribe.

I doubt you will read this, but at 29:00 you guys are talking about not encountering anyone in the Law Enforcement profession past 10 years that enjoys the job or has anything positive to say. I would like to contradict that statement. I am at year 17 and work for a medium to large agency (almost 4000 employees, about 1800 sworn deputies), and love the job and look forward to coming into work every day. I work in the most violent part of the city, and me and my guys get into fights and pursuits (car and foot) every night we are at work. Constant running and gunning, and wouldn't trade it for the world. Yet everyday, I look forward to as well as reinforce to my guys, work to make a positive difference in someone's life every day. I could go on and on, but I just felt compelled to say something once I heard that comment. I have torn this and that over the years, broken every finger on my hands and several toes between fights and chases. I know when a weather front is moving through before the weatherman does. But I wouldn't trade the experiences for anything.

23 year LE vet. He has a point about cops reaching burnout after 7-10 years. It’s been my opinion that this mostly impacts cops who stay patrol officers their entire careers. It’s my opinion that the cure is to seek promotion or a change in duty (detective, SRO, CSI, Narcotics, etc). A lot has to do with the culture of the particular agency you work for. He can’t really make a judgement on all cops anymore than I can. He had his LE experience with the people he worked with in his corner of the county and I have had mine. I’ve seen a number of guys get the burnout attitude he speaks so….I’ve also seen a bunch of officers work 30+ year careers and were teary eyed at their retirement speech when they had to leave.

Yes please do a full review of it. Thats an awesome piece so it'd be good to see if it continues its misbehavior, or if its able to work correctly after all. It'll be interesting to see if it has to go back to Henry again too.

Two people to this day that probably don't even remember me. Acting Squadron Comandor Captain Summers and Acting First Sergeant West. (During holidays) When I reached out about my father about to pass way. Had me with a negative balance in my bank account, on a plane home in less than 24 hours. I obviously was stateside, but I WILL NEVER FORGET getting a call from my brother saying my father was about to pass from Cancer and those two individuals got me to see him in ICU on life support before he ultimately passed. If those two ever asked me today to hide a body, I wouldn't even question it, I would just do it.

After getting crippled up in 2012 do to falling asleep at the wheel after a grueling month in a half of oil rig moving. And a lot of partying. My father came to visit, pretty hard nosed veteran, strength and conditioning coach guy said alright buttercup you haven't earned the right to be upset, you did this to yourself, if you're going to talk then talk about WTF you going to do about it and then you're going to DO IT. Knife hand to the forehead, I didn't raise any f@#king quitters and when it gets tough because of your own doing you want to act like a victim. Hands down best thing that ever happened to me looking back was gettin crippled up.

He was referring to frocking this is common in the Marine Corps usually happens to E7 and up basically you get promoted to E8 to hot fill a position usually from someone leaving but you hold the rank but the not the pay … a gunny will be frocked to 1st Sgt but paid as E7 until he’s actually promoted to E8 by DOR (date of rank )

Reminds me when I was in Korea long while back. I was a private then, Saw an officer try to hem up a SFC that was walking on his phone in uniform. He called out to him then proceeded to mouth off: as soon as the SFC heard it, he turned around and his arm revealed a ranger and a long tab. The SFC lowered his phone and said: “Wrong food chain.” The officer was embarrassed to say the least.

At 43 minutes Greg Anderson speaks about how being in the military and law enforcement your doing great thing but it keeps it keeps you thinking small minded. I’m 24 and I want to be a ranger, on the other hand I want to pursue an entrepreneurial route and build something great for my wife and I however I know that if I want to be in the regiment that will take my 100% focus to be effective but it’s the same in the entrepreneur space what do I do?

With all due respect, I can’t believe Mike makes a point to talk about getting his first little cauliflower that will go away tomorrow. Anybody who trains bjj does not flex on having cauli ears LOL unless you are trying to show an image, boxers don’t say look at my nose and Muay Thai fighters don’t show off their shins If you don’t want cauliflower wear headgear
