Why can’t we cut defense? This groupthink is the problem.

Cut defense spending while were involved in multiple wars? Or.. stop giving tax breaks to people who don't need them... which is a lot more expensive and pointless.

Cut expenses on housing, transportation, feeding migrants. Stop paying Ukraine multi billions every other week Stop funding to private universities. This would be a start

More like stop funding isreals insanity, literally bring in competition into the health car market forcing actually competition, increase scrutiny on the insurance industry as a whole and rein in groups like the financial services industry and big oil

Conclusion A series of massive, permanent tax cuts have created large federal budget primary shortfalls and continue to exert upward pressure on the debt ratio. In other words, the current fiscal gap-the growing debt as a percentage of the economy-stems from legislation that cut taxes, disproportionately for the very rich. While it is true that the Great Recession and legislation to fight it, along with the costs of responding to the health and economic effects of COVID-19, pushed the level of debt higher, these costs were temporary and did not change the trajectory of the debt ratio. If Congress wants to decrease deficits, it should look first toward reversing tax cuts that largely benefited the wealthy, which were responsible for the United States’ current fiscal outlook.

The Federal government is simply too large. They are involved in the daily lives of citizens far beyond the original scope of the framers. People are spending like drunken sailors these days. Who needs an $80k truck or car? Most are house poor.

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $100k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work.. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.

If you got rid of all of the loopholes and made the rich pay what they owe in taxes we’d be out of this mess. But no, cut support for lower and middle class households instead. Because that’s obviously the right thing to do.

Why don't the federal government stop paying for disaster reliefs for hurricanes, wild fires, floods and tornadoes? Their own states could and should pay for their own residents. That would be saving trillions in 10 years. Also stop farm subsidies that payout to giant agri corporations. Remove restrictions on importing pharmaceuticals to cut medical costs that would benefit the elderly.

CEO's can't look more than 1 quarter ahead....what makes you think that they have any idea of what it takes to manage a country of 300+ million? Remember you can't fire your citizens to cut costs...but maybe they think otherwise haha
