A lot of normal people are concerned about mass migration. Liberals love it. Congress is simply reflecting that difference of opinion. Why do you think congress exists?

What Newt conveniently omitted was that Trump told the GOP congress members to reject the Senate's bipartisan. The immigration problem belongs to both Trump and Biden.

That’s false… Biden resending all the orders that were put in place under the Trump administration days after he came into office. After that there was an influx of illegal immigrants… that lead to the boarder crisis. Biden, tried to deny it was a crisis until it became undeniable… then he tried to use the boarder bill send additional money to Ukraine. The boarder bill you are speaking of had billions of dollars to Ukraine in it, that why it wasn’t passed. Then Biden started implementing the same executive orders the Trump did to control the boarder… and it’s gotten better since then. Long story short, Biden should not have opened up the boarder in the first place, then to blame someone who wasn’t even in the government at the time is pretty rich. Lolol.

"I've spoken of the shining city all my political life…. And how stands the city on this winter night? … After 200 years, two centuries, she still stands strong and true to the granite ridge, and her glow has held no matter what storm. And she's still a beacon, still a magnet for all who must have freedom, for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurtling through the darkness, toward home." -- President Ronald Reagan, Farewell Address, January 11, 1989

I once saw a KZbin video where the host explained that the stalemate & ultra partisanship we see in the Congress today really began in 1995 when Newt Gingrich became the House Speaker. Prior to 1995, we saw a lot more compromise between the parties in the Congress, especially if the President was from the opposite party as the 1 that controlled the Congress. But once Gingrich became Speaker, as he himself once admitted, his primary goal was to prevent Clinton from passing anything to hurt his chances of getting re-elected & led a bunch of (mostly non-serious) investigations into Clinton & other high ranking Democrats. Whenever the President is from 1 political party but the Congress is controlled by the other we have seen this happen with all 5 Presidents since 1995.

Newt is the reason for sooo much of the performative petty politicking that our elected leaders today engage in. In synergy with Fox News Newt essentially obliterated the notion of compromise and moderation in US government. You either win or lose and you are either with us or you’re against us.

"I, in my own mind, have always thought of America as a place in the divine scheme of things that was set aside as a promised land. It was set here and the price of admission was very simple: the means of selection was very simple as to how this land should be populated. Any place in the world and any person from those places; any person with the courage, with the desire to tear up their roots, to strive for freedom, to attempt and dare to live in a strange and foreign place, to travel halfway across the world was welcome here." -- Ronald Reagan

Look back in time when immigrants were clashing with each other after leaving Ellis island. The Irish the Italians and others. The Vietnamese almost destroyed our fishing industry.
@LazyMagpieTakesNap
@LazyMagpieTakesNap 19 сағат бұрын
WTAF are you on about? Yes, there was tension between immigrant groups. And? Vietnamese immigrants NEVER "nearly destroyed our fishing industry". Fishing everywhere is threatened by a broad range of issues - high fuel costs, a SHORTAGE of workers, an influx of cheap imports, overfishing and environmental factors like climate change have led to a decline in the seafood population. Vietnamese immigrants worked incredibly hard and famously integrated successfully into American society. Yes, there have been tensions, fueled by RACISM but Vietnamese immigrants are not responsible for the fishing industry's issues. That's ridiculous.

So in the US, we have Cuban, Nicaraguan and Venezuelan people requesting asylum, all three countries with Russian ties and in Europe, their refugee problems also come from areas with Russian involvement. We have a political party under Russian influence, thru tRump. You know tRump visited the USSR before it became Russia and their ambassador was told to make contact a year before, according to the ambassador's two daughters. Two of tRump's wives were raised in Communist countries. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Links_between_Trump_associates_and_Russian_officials#:~:text=The%20report%20concluded%20that%20there,2016%20hack%20and%20leak%20operation.

@@nalon121 So the fact that Russia moved into all those areas after the US did whatever doesn't mean they are involved in worldwide migration problems against the Western democracies. It's just a coincidence Russia is always involved. The history of counties is off and on for nearly all major counties. I expect Cuba to change soon and pull away from Russia, the US has gas to give them electricity. The leaders of countries love to play for and against the US.
