The Vikings are finally coming out from the disastrous Spielman/Zimmer decision to sign Cousins and let Keenum walk. Imagine if they gave Keenum another year and he laid an egg. It would’ve been then, 2019 when the recovery would’ve started for this team, not 2024. Also imagine if Keenum had played lights out that second year? The possibilities are endless. 6 years of lost time. Hopefully we can get something meaningful going this year and next.

Kirk lost his confidence yesterday. Stared down WRs and looked like he wasnt comfortable in the ATL offense. He wasnt good in MIN his first year. And he was looking better in his 2nd year in the KOC offense. I think Kirk could eventually play well if they stick with him. But with Penix waiting im not sure that will happen. Keeping Kirk was the "easy" decision; moving on entailed a "risk" that a lot of people (maybe including the owners) are uncomfortable with. I hope Sam Darnold has a good season and we have some fun.

It's one game. Falcons played a good team we played a horrible team so let's not freak out. Having said that, Darnold at 10 million and having an extra 35 million to spread around to beef up the roster is a way better option than overpaying a guy who is good, but not good enough.

If you remember when Dan Marino came back from his torn Achilles the Dolphins had him in shotgun after most of the time he couldn't drop back as fast anymore I assume the Falcons have seen they'll have to do the same with Kirk and they were both the same type of player pocket passers not too mobile although Marino was very good at side stepping pressure I think he'll be in that formation the entire year which doesn't fit Kirk's style I know Penix will be the starter when we play them

It's pretty much what I expected that you guys would make such bold assessments after just one game, opening day of the season, during which many things happen that don't stand the test of time. Kirk has always started the seasons slowly, finding his stride after a few games. The cream always rises. The Vikings got a mediocre win against a really bad team and you guys want to crown them the next Super Bowl winners. Vikings are poised to lose their next 8 games or more. Let's see what you have to say after week 11.

@@saraxiong It's a long season. One game, that they were SUPPOSED to win means nothing. And in today's NFL, the first 5 games of the regular season are kinda like what the preseason USED to be back in the day when players weren't making ultra-mega bucks, the regular season was shorter, players weren't steroid-laden behemoths, injuries were much fewer, and owners weren't afraid to play them in the preseason. All kinds of crazy things happen in the first 5 games, the good teams start hitting their strides mid-season. In 2003, the Vikings started the season 6-0 and then failed to make the playoffs. The schedule gets a lot tougher starting now and the Vikings are probably going to lose their next 8 games. Kirko will be back to his elite self before too long. Atlanta's O-line is better than Minnesota's was, so he's going to tear it up once he gets in rhythm with his new team. Mackey and Judd are just rabid Kirk-haters, they've always been from day one and its moronic of them to be trashing Kirk and crowning Darnold after just one game.
