Former Myanmar president Thein Sein attended the 70th anniversary event for China's 'peaceful co-existence' foreign policy. He is in Beijing for an official visit, and this is his first foreign trip since the military seized power in Myanmar three years ago. Leong Wai Kit shared more on the significance of the leader's presence against the absence of army chief Min Aung Hlaing, and what it means for China-Myanmar relations.

China don't involve others business. Who run the country is none of China business. Myanmar are too proud to beg and US is arming the minorities to fight the Junta. There is no winner or loser in the internal conflicts. The minorities is defending their areas and the Junta just can't get rid of them from Myanmar. Don't forget minorities are occupying Myanmar land not the other way round. China prefer they negotiate a settlement but they all can't agree. these minorities was to control and run the areas they occupied but the Junta and previous governments told them this is Myanmar land and they must follow the Myanmar rules. Rohingas also another orginate from India side and occupy a part of Myanmar is also a thorn and Myanmar wanted them out and didn' t want to give them citizenships. There are many minorities tribes occupying Myanmar for so long and nobody can find a solution. Even Aung san su kyi took over, she can't solve these problem, she send the army to fight them too. Unless all minorities leave Myanmar, will the problem be solved? Now the Junta knew Aung san su kyi is a puppet od the west and the west wanted a foothold in Myanmar to use it as a proxy to fight China. this is the last chance for the west. Nato wanted a place and this is ideal, next to china. The other asean countries reject the West and US from having a military base in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.Myanmar is a last chance saloon for US to get to China border and now they want the minorities tribes to fight and maybe they can put a base on the chinese border with the help of theose minorities tribes who need money which US is willing to give them.

@@CSNem-vf3vk Please go to wikipedia and look up the facts. there are 7 ethnic state up north and west of Myanmar consist of 135 ethnic groups of various sizes in population. All refused to obey the laws of the majority Burmese. they had conflicts almost everything under the sun. for so long ago around 1950. the fighting now is nothing new but the west medias painted a picture of Myanmar falling apart. Nothing of it is true. The Burmese will occupy the marjority of the land and till today is trying to get rid of the minorities. they had been fighting even before you were born for that matter. The Junta don't want US and the west to control Myanmar and make them proxy to fight China which had a border with Myanmar. The junta allow democracy when they held election and Aung sang su kyi party won and formed the Government. Soon the Junta realised the elected government is working on US and Nato having a base in Myanmar, and they quickly took action and start a coup to prevent it from happening. The junta allowed Aung sang su kyi to return home to England where her husband and sons is residing but the US told her to stay on and will look after her family. Later years, her english husband past away leavingher 2 sons in England. till today. US was angry that they nearly succeed but failed and start to bad mouth and lies to the world and also sanction to destroy Myanmar unless Aung sang su kyi is reinstated. Thank the Junta, all asean countries, if not we really have a Ukraine in Asean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! US is really up to no good.

Nah, he was a former president and is considered a figurehead of the Myanmar Military Junta (Senior General Than Shwe). Than Shwe retired from politics under the protection of the 2008 Constitution, which he crafted without a popular vote, and selected Thein Sein as his presidential successor.
