Well he was a very lumbering, slow footed center. And though he had the rebounding, defensive skills along with the physical strength of traditional big men, Roy Hibbert had no jumpshot. And while he was a focal point on those early 2010s Pacers teams, the years 2013-2015 was when we saw the rise of the stretch-five especially with Steph Curry making so many three pointers on high efficiency. And when the Warriors proved that small ball can win a title, NBA scouts started demanding that big men need to be mobile along with their offensive and defensive skills. Just look at guys like Giannis, Joel, and Serge Ibaka. Not only are they big and strong, but they are mobile and have decent jumpshots. Even Blake Griffin averaged 36% from 3 in Detroit.

It wasn’t working, they were 24-15 in the games Roberson played in, he played in 39 games and the Thunder finished with a 48-34 record, they probably would of gotten 1 or 2 extra wins with Roberson but they still wouldn’t of gone anywhere in the Playoffs. On paper, their team record and player stats looked great but their chemistry was horrible, the only reason they won so many games was because they had 3 great players on a team but their chemistry was still shit so come playoff time it would account to nothing. 21 of their 48 wins came against playoff teams which means 27 of their wins were just against teams who shouldn’t even compete with them. 19 of their 34 losses also came from playoff teams which means they couldn’t compete with the top tier teams and were only beating the easier teams. Now look at the games Roberson played in and who they won and lost to. 19 of those 36 games were against playoff teams and in those games they won 12 of them and lost 7 of them. Being barely above 500 Against playoff teams isn’t good enough to be a contender, not to mention only 2 of those wins are against a top 4 seed in each conference

I can't believe it's been 4-5 years since Andre Roberson was actually healthy and playing. It feels like 2-3 seasons tbh. At least he made 35M in salaries but man, at age 30 and without a proper jump shot his NBA career is all but over.

@danlower78343 жыл бұрын
Harris got traded for Deron Williams (NJ to UTA) and was never the same after that. He just didn't look like the same guy in 2011-12. Ironically Josh Howard was on that Jazz team as well - a strange mix of young and vets, a young coach (Ty Corbin) and a franchise going through turmoil (for them) - owner had passed away, coaching legend (Sloan) had exited the year before after a feud with D-Will, Kirilenko and Okur gone, and their identity was just off. 36-30 record reflected that and a sweep at the hands of the Spurs.
