@@tonyott1377 This isn't meant to be an anti-police rant, but it's true that many officers are trained in navigating "the law" and "case law" during their career education. In certain states, this training is conducted by the state Attorney General's office. It is accurate to say that officers often know the law primarily in terms of identifying the code sections necessary for building cases. A State Trooper acquaintance once shared his "cheat sheet" with me, which suggests a general lack of interest in comprehending all the elements needed to construct a case. Indeed, a significant portion of their training appears to focus on circumventing the law and case law.

This prosecution was not typical , instead publicly presented as the rule rather than as the exception.
