Social Security is already on the brink of failure. Many couples aren't having the children needed to grow up and work jobs that will pay into social security in the future. Now add to that an administration giving illegals money and health care taken from Social Security and then give those same people amnesty, it will break the system completely. Some may argue- well those "newcomers" will make up for the families not having children. That is a flawed argument because a majority of those illegals (amnesty or not) will still work those jobs (e.g., construction, field labor) that pay under the table and don't take out social security from their checks. So basically you have millions benifiting from Socisal Security but those same millions won't be putting anything back into the system.

This is a decrease from 2.33 children under 18 per family in 1960. Less children equals less future workforce contributing to social security, and even then it's a crap shoot given the eroding work ethic in the country. I completely agree that if you can't afford to have a child, or simply don't want children for whatever reason for the love of Pete don't get pregnant. Abortion isn't the answer to that problem either, especially when it's tax-payer funded. Countries like Japan are facing this problem and because they're a smaller nation the problem will hit them much sooner.

My point, like the song- The children our our future. We don't want Overpopulation like India, but we don't want Population control like China used to promote. Children should always be wanted and not viewed as a burden. By providing an economy that supports the raising of children and a world that is safe then many people won't say "i'll never bring a child into a world like this".
