@BenHutchinson924 жыл бұрын
agree mate, for some reason, other than ugo - the England coaches seem to prefer white wingers over black guys, no idea why, it's probably some subconscious racism from the selectors, all you have to do is watch the NFL to realise there aren't enough black guys playing rugby, look at the likes of Itoje or Sinckler, they're freaks - massive, fast and strong and have a great brain for the game too.
@crazyeyeskillah4 жыл бұрын
@@BenHutchinson92 I played school level Rugby as an outside centre and the white guys with the connections in the game always got picked for county ahead of me regardless of talent. A lot of times it was who you know and a lot of us black guys just don't have that generational influence. All my opposition numbers always used to say why aren't you getting selected for county and I never really knew. But I just didn't have that generational influence where the other kids would have their fathers and grandads in the selectors ears or know them personally, my dad wasn't in their world so could only cheer from the sideline. It's the same also if you are from a poorer background as well. Some of my white mates who were working class didn't get a look in. That was 20 years ago mind, hopefully it has changed.

@@crazyeyeskillah I'm sorry to hear that mate! hopefully times have changed a bit since then, I played rugby around 20 years ago to and had 3 black teammates who were always good - josh, tall tony and crazy chris haha top lads all 3 of them! hopefully this nfl player pathway program will help more kids from this country/any country to show their talents when they otherwise wouldn't have the chance to. It's nice to see the world moving forward but also depressing when you think about how long its taken and how many fucking backwards people are still out there.

@@BenHutchinson92 Really put some waffle down here mate. Robinson, Armitage, Watson, Ojo, Sackey, Yarde all black players who reprsented england, that doesnt even take into account those that played age grade too. And what has the NFL got to do with England, there are 40 million blacks people in the USA almost that of the whole English population. You also included Itoje and Sinckler proving that the apparent subconcious bias must not apply to the forwards lol. Its quite obvious why he is not picked, he is too small and not a good tackler. In todays game wingers who are not confident under the high ball will be targeted not matter how tall you are. You can hide a small 9 or 10 in the defensive line. Not so much a wing.
