Path of Exile 2 has been GGG's main focus for a long time and it's left POE1 fans asking - where is patch 3.26? Based on past public statements from GGG I still think 14-Feb and 21-Feb are the most likely release dates... and if they aren't going to hit those, we should get confirmation soon.
3.26 before POE2 0.2.0 seems far more likely to me than the reverse, as 0.2.0 will be a lot of work.
(It's of course possible GGG will put out a delay hours after I post this... that would be annoying, but funny)

Ground loot in 1 is probably unfixable. It would take massive nerfs to crafting to make ground loot remotely interesting (beyond the odd thing you can't make with crafting like 30% quality bases; but even those are only good because Betrayal was nerfed so you can't make 30q there any more).

I can't imagine playing priv league in PoE 2 with current crafting, for the past 3 years or so im playing priv leagues with few friends in PoE 1 and its so much fun farming specific stuff for items you need and slowly crafting your gear. Meanwhile this would be impossible to do in PoE 2, i would need to count on RNG from rare item drops. Wudijo himself mentioned that he got and upgrade to his Bow that he found in campaing in ssf when he was already lvl 95 and he was picking all the bows trying to "craft" them to that point. They need to do sth with crafting in PoE 2 for sure, either make Essences like 10x more common so you can get Greater ones reliably.

i think its Jonathan. there's always been "that guy" in GGG that does things that no one likes and i think it's him. the fact that he's a co-founder, the fact a ton of those issues are in PoE2 almost stubbornly, the fact almost every word he says seems rehearsed... i really don't trust that guy and i think he's why there are so many problems. i'm willing to bet he's why the game is basically poe1 relentless, why MF is so bad, why the trade system is so archaic, and so many more things i can't think of on the spot.

I can't wait for 3.26! While poe2's campaign was definitely more engaging than poe1's, I 100% prefer poe1's endgame so far. Every single map, you can run a specific map you want to run juiced with whatever mechanics you want. Plus, I'd much rather pick up 1000 alterations than 1000 item bases.

There is potential for 3.26 to be huge, even bigger than Settlers, since this first PoE1 league after PoE2 EA could be used as a means to draw a massive amount of new players to PoE1. If they do it right. Also, if 3.26 is very small, it could really upset the PoE1 fanbase and reaffirm the idea that PoE1 is suffering greatly because of PoE2.

Iirc this timeline post came before the livestream Q&A with Ziggy so the livestream should be more accurate. In the livestream they said late february early march, but I believe that in one of the sources they used the wording announcement and in the other they used the wording launch, but this could've been them messing up their communication and mixing things up.

Depends on how hype the 3.26 will be On Steam only: PoE 2 peak at 570k while PoE 1 last league peak around 200k ish As Chris said about PoE 1 50% play on steam so you can say the combine PoE 1 peak (settlers) is around 400k+. While most PoE 2 player are using steam it's probably around 75%:25% or maybe more so roughly 750kish 750k (my estimation) PoE 2 new game vs 400k PoE 1 Old game With some PoE 1 veteran that won't back play PoE 1 league the peak PoE may going down, but since there's many "Potential Free only game Player" who take interested in PoE, they will probably try PoE 1 while waiting PoE 2 free Note: There's no confirmation about PoE 2 Standalone client vs Steam client number yet, the 3:1 just my guess, but I except it to be higher on steam client side, maybe 5:1 if it's out of expectation

This isn’t even the base game of POE 2 yet. They haven’t even released a lot of content yet. And they will add in tons of content as leagues go on. This is just the skeleton on which POE 2 will be built. Think POE 1 release. They have to stretch the life of the game somehow, so they remove basically everything but the bare essential mechanics then add everything in over time. Eventually the leagues will go on and leftovers will be added to the game permanently, for example: there’s no harvest currently, and no heists, etc… more bosses will be added, more chase uniques, one probably similar to mageblood, better flasks, better charms, and content where those are necessary. Poe 2 literally hasn’t even begun.

My thoughts are 3.26 will come out at about the same time as 0.1.2 as it will have sweeping balance changes and nerfs to many of the popular builds and take some of the focus off the over performing builds being nerfed. @@sirgog Depends on what they want from 3.26. If they release both leagues simultaneously, then they can use the undoubtedly lower numbers from PoE1 to point to why they're going to backburner it. Financially, it should be a wash as MTX will be available for both games anyways, so people will still be buying regardless of which game they're playing. The business isn't hurt by them underwhelming with 3.26, it's just shifted in categories.

Have you even played it? If you die in a map you can still go back and complete it, you just lose whatever extras it had, like a boss or rituals or whatever. One portal per map is also inaccurate. You have 6 portals to use for looting or trading, but you do have just 1 death per attempt.

@ ya I know you can loot and all that if you don’t die sure but the extra content that you lose on that map if you do die is to harsh of a punishment making it tedious to run it again. Throwing in a white map just to get completion to get to the next node really is a setback if you are running t15 maps. Just feels to harsh of a punishment for a death. But adding a node on the atlas can fix that if you can get X % chance to not lose content on the map if you do die.

@@davep5788 Hve YOU even played it? If you die you lose the map and ALL of the content on it. SUre you can re enter, but you lose any game mechanic associated to it. If you enter the map and it is irradiated, corrupted, has a breach and a ritual on it and die, all 6 portals disappear, and thus your loot, and all 4 pieces of content are wiped off of the map. You 100% do lose the map in 1 death.

I got to maps in PoE2 and kind of stopped playing, it's just way too grindy. It requires way too much attention all the time. I am not that big crafter in PoE1, but can create pretty decent items myself. Played D4 between PoE1 and PoE2 just to be able to compare all of them, D4 crafting felt stupid, but I have to say PoE2 crafting is not that far of from that, mindless slot machine.

Do you play POE 1? GGG don't ever just nerf, they do META changes, to keep the game fresh. Some skills will be nerfed into the ground and some will be heavily buffed. This is the reason why the new league patch notes are like 20+ pages long.

I would actually expect a significantly **increased** PoE1 player-base going forward, at least for the first couple leagues after PoE2's EA and official launches. PoE1 is most legendary for being an excellent game with an intimidating barrier to entry, but this barrier is much lower for players who have already experienced and enjoyed PoE2. PoE2 is and will continue to bring a ton of prospective players to try PoE1, and so long as it receives good updates it should continue to succeed.

in the recent 0.1.1 announcement interview of jonathan and mark with darth, the question of when 3.26 is going to be released was asked towards the end of the interview. jonathan said it was a long topic and did not want to get into because it was so late in the interview. i took it as a potential delay, and a big one judging by jonathans tone. hopefully i am wrong. i even suspect they may have halted poe1 production wholly until poe2 1.0 launch, which will be a disaster imo for people that are tired with poe2 and want to get back into good old poe1.

i think everyone needs to keep this in mind moving forward. GGG canceled a league for PoE1 to drive everyone to PoE2, a game they intentionally designed to not appeal to the core demographic of PoE1. everything about the last several months from GGG has been atrocious in my opinion. this is absolutely Blizzard levels of comedic error after comedic error. the only difference is its from a company no one expects that behavior from.

So many players who play PoE2 who've never played PoE1 in the comment section that have no idea what they're talking about. PoE1 has an entirely different dev team. It's like RS3 and OSRS, there will be similarities, but they're going to progress differently, and they will both continue to see updates and leagues independant of one another, money is money, there's no sense in them dropping PoE1 anytime soon.

Look at the metrics of sold copies, current player base, how does it differ from full on release? Ya, currently PoE2 endgame just makes me yearn for PoE1. I know PoE2 will eventually hit the spot. But rn it is boring af. Hopefully this is a banger season. Until they reduce the time it takes to run the campaign (first time through) in PoE2 and get the endgame rolling, PoE1 is still in a league of its own. And for those who think the campaign length is fine - let me remind you that it's an ARPG. No one actually gives af about the campaign. It takes an average player about 20-25 hours on a new char (no twink gear or anything). Compare to Last of Us which takes 16-20 hours. A masterpiece in storytelling. Why on God's green earth should an ARPG campaign take longer than an actual RPG? Considering the best part of an ARPG is the endgame, it's just a slog.

If rarity didn’t scale currency it would be fine, but because it does it creates a loop of crafting a good item without rarity, which will result in less currency drops to craft your next piece of gear.

I'm not sure I'd go back to PoE1 to be honest. Sure, it has more content, but PoE2 just feels much better to play. As soon as PoB becomes good on PoE2, I'll have really no reason to ever go back to PoE1. As we all know, PoE games are just to test your PoB build.

imagine playing wasd in a top down ARPG click to move is just better equalizes load on both left and right hands instead of putting it all on your keyboard hand to slowly develop arthritis and carpal tunnel because you are moving and pressing skills/flasks you also can click more efficiently, and your character will move there without holding down a button or even two buttons

​@@ByoUng-g4c Click to move is objectively inferior, you have far less precision in your movements and your point about "equalising load" is far more applicable to moving with WASD and using abilities with left/right click or mouse buttons. Strain is far worse in PoE1 with click to move and an ability on right click - which is how the large majority of people play. Flasks are a non-factor, I'm pressing them for a short time of a league (until instilling orbs or mageblood) and I'd probably put them on mouse buttons if I had WASD. This isn't the knowledge bomb you thought it was lol.
