I remember as a child in the 80s a radio host named Cosmo Currier was on WLTH.

Thank you for your comment Mark I remember seeing him all the time and he would wave at us Kids. I could not remember his name for the life of me. I appreciate you refreshing my memory on that one. We definitely had a unique childhood growing up when the city was the place to be And all these good memories last a lifetime for us.

So nice to hear some great memories from back then. It's very cool that the radio tower is still there. There were so many little radio stations back then competing with the big guns, but the big guns didn't have that personal touch like the little guys. We need these little guys. So many big name radio personalities got their start at the small stations. I guess they were like a steppingstone for them to something bigger. I remember as a teenager how important radio stations were to me, like for most kids. They had the countdowns to the top song for that week and every kid was hoping it would be their favorite one. You could call in and ask them to play your favorite song or ask for a dedication song to someone else. Then of course there were the endless contests to win concert tickets or record albums or something else. You know what I mean .... we all hung around the radio waiting for the DJ to say "Be the 10th caller and you just got yourself freed tickets to ..." Those were fun days and worry free. Thanks for the video, Paul. You always bring me back to some great memories. I can't wait to see you again this weekend!!

Hi Storm! I looked in a 1959 phone book. The business next to the radio station then was Harmon's Kitchens. And the station back then went by WGRY the phone book says. Loved the song at the end!

Maybe I'm wrong but I seem to remember the building next to WLTH was Jim McGee's Health Club. It was a workout 💪 gym. 60's and 70's. A lady across the alley from my mom's house worked there. Keep up the good work Mr. Storm!

You’re very welcome, Rob. I appreciate you taking time to leave those memories and you are very welcome without good people like yourself. I would not be doing what I do so I want to thank you for that. 🫵😎‼️⛈️💯

Cool video, Storm. That radio tower reminds me of when my neighbor had a huge tower in his back yard. That's a whole other story, 😅. Take care, Storm!

Thank you, Betsy. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and every time I see that radio tower. It always reminds me of being young and walking down the alley and seeing that huge tower. You take care and I hope all is well with you, my friend. 🫵⛈️❤️‼️

Interesting history, thanks for sharing Storm...would be nice indeed to have again small radio stations, could play more local acts, bands instead of the conglomeration we have now. Great jam at the end

I appreciate you, brother you are very welcome and thank you for your unwavering support over all these years. I used to love listening to the radio. I cannot tolerate it anymore now because of all the commercials and junk music. It took me a while to find that one at the end, but I’m glad you, enjoyed it my good man and it’s always nice hearing from you. Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Without good people as yourself I do not think I would be able to do this for so long, but knowing people people are enjoying the content makes me want to get out there and do more.

I remember WLTH growing up as a kid in 70’s and 80’s my dad was a blues guy they would always spin something for him on request. I grew up in the same neighborhood you did love u Storm ❤ The church next door now owns the property and what I hear the pastor Charles Jones has passed 🪦 RIP.

I remember this station but it saddens me what has become of the city I was born and raised in. Now that my mom just passed a couple months ago it's even more heartbreaking 💔 😢
