Dude… and to think that there are actually numerous places in this run that time can be saved, even on the first split, is absolutely amazing. I’m totally blown away by how many runs that have been restarted due to less than optimal movement in the early time splits that could’ve easily been a runner’s PB/WR run, just by saving the time later on in the number of splits throughout the duration of the run. It is mind boggling how demanding this run is for your movement to be consistently clutch for over an hour and a half. However, Cheese makes this stuff look super easy. This was such an unbelievable run! I’m excited to see the future runs that inevitably end up beating this time as well. I’m hopeful that it is just Cheese bettering his PB/WR, but I know that can’t always be the case. P.S. - That was the cutest and most touching moment when you called your mom and woke her up from her slumber, just to tell her you got the WR back, btw. You can tell she was very happy and excited for you but also very sleepy, simultaneously! Lol!! P.S.S. - Keep up the amazing work, you sassy lil betch, you! That is all. The mentality to never expect the record clearly showed up beneficial on this run.. You just did it, and beating the record by three seconds. TTC moving reds, RR triangle back up and a CLEAN BitS were the final clutch moments.. it makes me think, what if you were a full minute ahead of previous WR at fire sea, or a good 45s at the end off SL, would the nerves of come too soon and maybe fucked up the run? Maybe the key to knocking the time down consistently is just scraping it by everytime, never let the idea of WR pop into your head until throws? It's what you did here! You didn't even know if it was WR after the third throw connected, that's how clutch and close I'm talking! Mindset of the grind is clearly such a big component for success is running this game. Also imagine if you did the RR 100 back up near the red coin, you're looking at, or close to a 1:38:1x. After seeing the a combination of back ups, fine granular movements and also mistakes that costs a good few seconds spread out between yours and simplys run, i think a 1:37:5x could be coming sooner than we think! I still don´t know how you can easily interact with the chat while gaining world record its crazy💪anyway since you got world record I always asked myself why nobody is trying out the Super Mario 3d Allstars version of super mario 64, since nintendo rolled out a new update 1.1 where you can finally invert the camera back like it was in the original. I know its the snindou version where BLJ doesn´t work (of course the time will not be as good as in the original version), but maybe you could try it out for a few runs and come back to the n64 version. If it were a native port or a version with added content like SM64 DS then why not, but there is no reason to play it if you're a N64 runner. UncommentatedPannen has an explanation here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpnYipJsj9drh8k TL;DW If you spend longer than 2 seconds off the ground/slide you get disqualified. You may be thinking this because some speedrunners like simply jump and skip just a small part of the slide during the race star, but I guess that's just below 2 sec. The big skip is for the star for just completing the slide, which you can do on shindu/3D All Stars version.

The choke during RR hundred coins looks like it cost a majority of those 20 seconds lost on that split. Combine that with a couple other noticeable time losses (bad HMC blue coin RNG at the end of hundreds, muscle memory almost sending Cheese towards star 3 of SSL when he was doing hundred coins, having to go back for the seventh red coin in VCutM), and sub-1:38 appears to be within reach.

yo this is the first time even watching a speedrun but its my favorite childhood game and im so impressed
