Would LOVE to see psychology as just an aglorithmic part of the game. But... I'm afriad it won't happen with 2K because they think this can be plotted out like fucking basketball. Also, if it were to happen, I think it would be on a 6th (or possibly 7th) gen game engine where AI is incorporated into the design. But on the other hand, move variation, building up to the signature moves and finishers, close pin-falls, taunts, etc. ARE part of the storytelling. It isn't super intelligent, and I see now what you mean (kind of a tall order--the game designers would have to understand pro wrestling meh... haha), but still more advanced than those old THQ sprite fight classics where the dudes barely had different moves from each other. 🤣

The older games have a pretty good rep in comparison and are better in the fun department, but current WWE games are really good in letting you set up spots more easily. The weapon physics aren't that great, but my favorite thing is setting up a Last Ride onto a table or trash can as the Undertaker. It's a lot easier nowadays with the carry system since you can walk up to the table while the opponent is in a Powerbomb position and then hit your Signature from there. Older games required more patience in doing things like that
