The wrist and finger wrapping was explained by stone cold on his podcast. He stated at times you are so sweaty and your opponent as well. You barely have grip with your hands. So the tape or wrap helps have proper grip. So when you do a move or spot. You dont loose grip or slip. Also he stated it does help you joints and with certain moves or landings it helps a lot too. Plus the grip issue applies to the mat and ropes too
@Speedyreedy12184 ай бұрын
Every wrestler has a different motive for it. In HHH'S documentary, it had multiple purposes. 1. *Injury prevention.* He said he's broken his wrist (and fingers) a few times, so he always liked to tape his right wrist and hand, especially since that's his dominant one. Same for his knuckles. 2. *Aesthetics.* He said as he was becoming The Game, this jacked badass, his look was part of the gimmick. Taping all knuckles, his left wrist and dominant hand contributed to his ability/perception to be a killer, a destroyer, a fighter. 3. *Homage.* The last reason he said was to pay tribute to the old school wrestlers who would tape up.
@PhillyBagel3 ай бұрын
I originally speculated it was to help stabilize the wrist for all the moves they have to do. But having something to help reliably grip on an opponent makes much more sense.

The "why does anyone care about title reign records" question is like asking "why would anyone care if The Avengers save the world? The movie is fake anyway". They're simulating a sport, becoming the champion is the goal of any serious competitor. If WWE stopped caring about their championships, the whole product would become pointless. Just ask WCW what happens when you decide the World Championship is just a prop
@AlexBen-v7y4 ай бұрын
Tbf, it's a kinda reasonable question... You are absolutely correct in your logic, but see it from other perspective. Like The Undertaker is a 4 time WWE champion, so what?? No one cares about that. His streak and him being an absolute legit badass and fascinatingly entertaining figure is what made him immortal than many others. I think, the question is in more in that vein. Kurt Angle never mentions that he has been a 14 time World champion in pro wrestling, but that he is a WWE "Superstar", when promoting himself.

I saw HBK at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Cornette talking about the "OVW 5" is really interesting. He knew Cena would be huge but thought Batista wouldn't make it, he said Lesnar was lazy, and Shelton Benjamin was his favorite, I think he said Orton would be great, if he worked a bit harder.
@eduardopena58933 ай бұрын
Shelton was probably the most athletically gifted out of all of them, but a personality of a sponge, that's why he wasn't going to work. He also wasn't one of the biggest guys, and Vince loves him the big heroes. Batista had the look which shot him up to the top quickly, but he flamed out just as fast, so did he really make it? Lesnar might not have taken it all that seriously. The guy was in MMA and tried out for the Minnesota Vikings. I don't think he's lazy. Orton had some natural in ring talent, but apparently liked to party a lot. Now you look at him and see his bloated up face. I never really cared for Orton personally.

Hey guys, Maven here. From 2001-2005 I had the privilege of being a WWE superstar. Now, you may be asking yourself, what does that mean exactly? Well, it means that from 2001-2005 I was a professional wrestler for WWE, or WWF as it was known back then. Now, was it all sunshine and rainbows for my entire career? Of course not. Do I wish I had done certain things differently? Of course I do. Was it an experience of a lifetime? You’re damn right it was. Now, you may be wondering what I have to go through in order to keep these movie star quality eyebrows in tip top shape. To find that out, click the link in the video.

I have seen other wrestling channels with former wrestlers, such as Six Feet Under with Mark Calloway, and every one of them all give Maven serious props for what he has done with this channel. My question to Maven is, if the WWE came to you today and offered you a contract to join the company and continue doing this type of work, and even on screen work, would you accept it? Thanks

From what i gather Vince did not like non homegrown talent....and that i guess is why the WWe vs WCW angle was a bust, seen so many interviews with people mention that....he would not push something that came from out of the company

Back in the day, some wrestlers didn't want to work with a Bret Hart, Randy Savage, or a DDP because they would block their matches down to the last detail, plus they'd be worried about forgetting spots. But once those individuals would go over it enough and the crowd got into the match those guys would go yeah we got something.

Now we know why Mark Jindrak was replaced in Evolution. Triple H said he was just too immature, and I guess calling him Paul over and over again in a joking manner maybe an example of what he was talking about.
@Speedyreedy12184 ай бұрын
He wasn't replaced. Batista was the original member. Vince tried to talk HHH into replacing him with Batista when he tore his tricep. HHH refused.
@quavehiphop91524 ай бұрын
@@Speedyreedy1218 Yes and no. They both were candidates to be in the group. Yes Batista was mentioned as being affiliated with Triple H and Ric Flair, but evolution wasn't an official stable yet by the time Batista tore his tricep. They were still a work in progress. They were in the process of presenting them as a full-fledged group once Randy came back from his injury, and Jindrak was slotted in replacing Dave. The plan from then on was for Mark to be a member of the group. Meaning once Evolution became official in WWE's books Jindrak would have been one of the original members of the group instead of Batista.
@Speedyreedy12184 ай бұрын
@@quavehiphop9152 Wrong. Batista and HHH have confirmed this multiple times. Jindrak was never in or considered to be by him.

@@Speedyreedy1218 Look up the original Evolution vignettes. Jindrak was in the shots with them but was removed from the footage later on. And look up documentaries and KZbin videos stating that fact. As a recovering addict Maven is my favorite wrestler. When I see you I see not just success but humility. That is one of an addicts biggest mountains to climb in recovery. How do you succeed without putting yourself in mortal danger? Humility! Gratitude! And as cheesy as it sounds - Love and Family be it blood or a found family or pet. I think Maven is a great example of these things. Thanks for being that mark on the compass for me Maven. Im bi polar and I get manic. I feel invincible. The thing is Maven, if everyone is lying about their weight, inflating yours wouldn't help with the weight disparity I think it's most of the time to seem more impressive. Like, if the dude is visibly lean, the more he weights, the more impressive he'll seem. If he's the Big Show... Well, anyone can see how massive he is, but it's difficult to quantify, so they round up to 500 pounds cause it sounds impressive af
