I'm sure someone has told you this by now, or you might have looked it up, windmills use the power of the wind to turn grain into flour. The process is called milling and it's an old profession that people in old times would pick up the last name Miller. I'm sure you've seen what a milling station looks like. It's that thing that you can see through the opening at the bottom of the windmill. It has a circular table with grooves and a wheel that is closely affixed so that it can press the grains into flour. In times before the windmill was invented or those who couldn't afford to build them would use a mortar and pestle to grind the grain into flour or would use less expensive things called querns that would work similarly to windmills only the stones used to make it would need to be rotated by hand. It was a simple early tool that someone could have made themselves or bought that greatly helped you grind all sorts of things like herbs in addition to flour.

I love the Heljarchen Farm mod! It's a staple in most of my playthroughs. I spend way too much time picking plants, cooking food and brewing potions, in between hunting trips for pelts, meat and ingredients. So relaxing. Another favorite is Silverstead Manor. I once build the entire thing by gathering every single piece of building material myself. I had to dive into so many Dwemer ruins for that one and spend hours chopping wood, but the sense of accomplishment was worth it.

Great and fun video idea! But as for the apocalypse series, you could be a Breton or Imperial Paladin, and a side quest would be that you would have to pray to each of the gods separately at each hold’s shrine, but each city is devoted to a different god, for example: Riften - Mara Markath - Dibella Windhelm - Talos Whiterun - Kynerath And then I guess the rest would correspond with the ‘theme’ of the city, like Julianos for Winterhold because he’s a god of magic, and winter hold because of the College of Winterhold. But of course, it’s up to you, we’d just really like for you to continue the series because of how good it is, so thanks!

Whenever I got tired of all the dingeoneering, I'd spend some time at the farm, upgrading it, selling stock, etc. I also use the Windstaad Mine mod to have essentially the same but with minerals, and also to have a large fishery to farm fish. Long live the farm life!

The purpose of the wind mills is for milling wind. The makes the wind softer, which makes it more valuable. Just like people don't like hard water, purple don't like hard wind. You can sell soft wind to Vitz. Or, if you want to plan ahead, you can build storage containers, and stockpile wind against the day that Skyrim builds wind farms. You could become a power conglomerate.

I would love to see an add-on in Skyrim or a mod where you can restore all the Dwemer cities back to their original luster, repairing pillars and everything as you walk through there. You can either make the things you need to repair or become in cahoots with theDwemer museum in Markarth. And he can supply you with things that he has, and all the rooms dotting around Skyrim can be restored because it would be cool to see what they looked like before they were desecrated by time.

A Windmill is a wind powered millstone. Millstones aka grind stones were used to make flower from cereal grains. Fun fact, that is were the saying "keep your nose to the grind stone" comes from. It was to make sure it was not spinning too fast causing it to burn due to friction.

Now that was a good video, it's a hard choice on whether I prefer this slice of life style content compared to the apocalyptic style of the other videos. They're both amazing- Although, the cat army at the end does give this one a few extra points. The next course of action is clearly to make Gjeoffriehy a Jarl! I'm sure there's a mod based on that concept. (this is a joke, even if there is a mod for it I feel like you'd make Skyrim a barren wasteland by the time you get all the resources.)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed!! Yep, still using ElevenLabs. It's super easy but can get pricey if you're using it a lot. I'm excited to see how they continue improving it in the future; I still do quite a bit of post-processing to get the narration volume more balanced and cut out long pauses or breaths.

I sensed there was something a little off about that voice, but I honestly didn't even realize it could be AI. Unbelievable!

Really nice touch using the Star dew Valley music. Already a nice video, but that was the cherry on top.

This is great!!! This is literally a question I've had in my head for a few years now. "Can you turn Skyrim into a farming game?" or "Could you play Skyrim as a farmer?" You've done it!

I absolutely loved this video! The stardey valley music in the background was the perfect choice, and I love your commentary and storytelling. This video just has the perfect comforting, calming feeling :] You've earned yourself a new subscriber, I can't wait to see what you do next :D

Homecooked meal is expensive. Because that is a food made with love. You can have money but can't have love. At least in skyrim.

This was great! Loved the stardew soundtrack in the background. 😂 and the comment at the end about grandma! This was super interesting. Loved the way the manor developed. Would have been awesome to be able to move your wife and kids in!

10:03 Wind mills (or the more reliable and efficient water mills if there's a river nearby) were used to turn massive mill stones that grind down large batches of raw grains like wheat, corn, and oats into usuable cooking ingredients like corn meal, oatmeal, and flour. If a farm was wealthy enough to build and maintain their own they not only saved a lot of money since they didn't have to pay someone else to mill for them, but smaller farms would probably have paid them to mill THEIR grains as well. Some places that didn't have a river or reliable winds would instead hook mules or horses to poles and make them THEM turn much smaller mill stones. I believe you can find one of those in the base game in Rorikstead.
