If communes worked long term and to a large size our current societal construct would support it. Unfortunately many fail when the size of the commune exceeds the original intention. This is when a governed society from top down becomes a reality.

His rambling ideas are interesting, but I wonder what the others' ideas may have been. His subtext shows a large concern for discouraging laziness and the need for people to do work and raise money. Did planners come up with a scheme? Was there finally a commune?
