I think it would be really funny to make a HRE so big that we split everyone (make Castille/Aragon into all the minors, mince the Ottos, etc.) and get them into the HRE. I'm not sure how big it really can be, but if we can make a "One HRE" achievement, it would be pretty funny.

You got the achievement ''Voltaire's nightmare'', wich need to have 100 nations in the HRE. it's pretty fun to do, especially when they become vassals. A easy way to WQ, by just let the vassals swarm do the job.

And the Dutch were 4th in the list of slavetraders on the Trans-Atlantic slave trade with almost 600.000 people forcefully transported. Our government and our king made apologies and the king asked forgiveness for the role in the slave trade of the Netherlands and the Dutch royal family. We hope to do better now and in the future.

No. You should READ about your history instead of listening to others. The Dutch weren't that bad apart from a few situations, such as on the Banda Islands; Coen on Amban island. As he said, we were about making profits on trade. Not on cultural and political integration of colonial lands. Which meant, cooperation with local rulers; they did a lot of terrible atrocities though which they 'blame' on the Dutch these days; cultuurstelsel.

@@sapereaude5121 Ad those profits were to be maintained by any force necessary, meaning repression and genocide if deemed necessary. I don't think there should be a contest of which country did the ''least bad'' colonising, as if that is an achievement, because at the end of the day it was still colonialism which inherently brings with it innumerable atrocities. Also let's not forget the horrendous shit KNIL soldiers pulled durig the ''politionele acties'' which our government only ceased because of pressure from the US. This all also ignores the way the Dutch government and Dutch society in general treated Indische Nederlanders after they fled to the Netherlands, which was far from decent.

Religion is not the main factor in which side the country is joining. Some time ago, I had the very catholic Papal state joining the protestants (maybe not via HRE tab, but in the war "only"), because he was the ally of the England - who went protestant, and also had very bad relations with me, who was the catholic emperor of HRE. :D

The funny thing in my dutch run is that there was probably no religious war. I decided to no join protestant side since all parties only have few members. And suddenly the game said HRE's religion is officialy catholic. Heck I kinda waiting to do religious wars but decided to not join recklessly, but probably because of that, no wars
