Why do they keep wasting time, money, and effort making 3d models of characters when it’s totally irrelevant in a game like EU or Victoria. CK it makes a bit more sense but not here. I don’t play paradox games for their graphics.

I guess it's a controversial opinion but I prefer the V3 combat system over EU4. At least the idea of it. I'm really tired of Benny Hill which happens all the time in EU 4 where as France you are fighting against Bohemia in China because they decided to take their whole army, abandon Bohemia, and go siege that one half-completed colony you have in Manchuria... It's really a big nonsense since AI knows when they will lose a battle so they will do the most bizarre shit to avoid your armies and the V3 system while far from being perfect at least fixes the issue with chasing armies over 2 continents and you don't need to micromanage it so crazily like in EU4.

Idk why But Victoria 3 is to hard for me

For me its 3 things I want to see: 1. It has to be devastating and have a relevant impact on my gameplay decisions 2. It has to be interactable, but not "solvable". It should offer me opportunities and interesting decisions while not giving me to much of an advantage over the ai 3. It has to have a balanced outcome. The world after the black plague should be roughly the way it was historically. It shouldnt break the global power dynamics to much and basically randomize the game afterwards.

I hope that the where the ruler is living could be tied to some bonuses, like if they are living in an urban centre there would be some bonuses to admin efficeny or even trade. On the other hand if ruler is on the countryside you could have some nobility bonuses. You could even tie this to some monuments like Versailles...

Why Capet in Navarra ? De Valois, Anjou Naples and de Bourgogne are all branches of the Capet dynasty, I understand the separation for simplicity and gamebalance purposes but why Navarra has Capet ? Characters seem an awesome addition to the game! I'm very hyped! BUT I really hope they don't make them look 3D-ish, like we see now. Looks cheap and doesn't go well with the overall design and art of the game we have seen so far! Please make the characters 2D like other art we see of the game. Especially the small portraits in the family tree look very bad at this point. Really hope it will not be final at this point.

Do you think capturing military leaders or nobles, ie. capturing a mercenary captain and recruiting them, capturing an enemy commander and executing him to help win a war, sieging a capital and capturing royal family to gain war score, etc. be a thing ? Would this impact PUs ? Can you recapture character ? Also surely royal marriages aren't required for alliances or else republics especially those with frequent elections would not work, or maybe they just get an alliance request bonus naturally as a republic

Started playing this game again with invictus mod. It is probably my favorite of the Paradox games along HOI4 and Stelaris. Just happy to see it getting some TLC from Paradox with a patch update.

so they're yet again doubling the number of provinces. I doubt I'll be playing this one. I played CKI heaps, CKII hardly at all. And EU4 (my fifth EU purchase) gets real tedious by 1600 - I don't enjoy playing much past about 1550. You just don't need a bazillion provinces.

It help me find potential claimants, lets me, yes, admire the rulers, and also lets me bask in the wonder of the pre-game start history that they've bothered to include, which is an awesome attention to detail and worthy of your respect.
