I need to do this for a valve cover bolt on my Sentra. I was just going to fill it with the stik and drill/tap but I like this idea. I boogered the hole up pretty bad and don’t want to have to replace the whole cylinder head for this considering there wasn’t even a bolt in it before (it was broken off my previous owner)

Hope it works/worked.

Still holding up? In the same boat but on an intake manifold bolt on the cylinder head :(

@@ilw_ if its a single bolt you might be fine. my car didnt develop a vacuum leak from one and surprisingly it idled fine

Still holding?

No, unfortunately it worked for a few days. I had to install a Healy coil to make it permanent. I figured I’d give it a try anyway

It might have held better if there were more "meat" around the threads, and it wasn't a part that gets much torque. Thanks for the idea nonetheless. @@livefree6878

the small motor does nor start at all.... Any video of a repair with no success at starting the chainsaw suggests that the 'expert' does not know the basics of starting the chainsaw ... replacing the threads in aluminum implies minimal holding and not a lot of stress on the aluminum.... just enough to hold the threaded steel screw in the block.

Stupid idea.... wont come close to stock torque requirements
