This song is way more addictive than it seems at first. Not in a way that it's super catchy, but in a way that it gives you emotions that you want to experience again and again, so you keep coming back to it. The MV and the song are already great, and then you add the performance, the concept pictures, the styling, the lyrics and the rest of the album to it, and it all becomes even more amazing together.

A.C.E for me is a group with a fascinating story, building themself from the ground up. They were picked by Beat Interactive, not guaranteed success since it was a smaller company, but these boys truly help build up their company and production up. They weren't picked to be trainees but instead, the company labeled them "aces," set to debut because they were sure of their talents. And in comparison to their debut era, A.C.E has garnered so much love and even has a dance room to practice in instead of a basement. All of them went to survival shows to help get A.C.E some promotion and even Donghun and BK were set to debut in Mixnine's boy group. Their songs are all so unique and they always try to break gender roles in their fashion, makeup, and even music. All of them have beautiful voices, excellent performance skills and that's hard to come by these days. They are all super charismatic, talented, and super funny as well, I can tell they have a strong bond with one another because when Chan was absent during TMH era due to UNB, they said it was incomplete. They bond well with the company and managers as well, they are very respectful. As a choice for two years and A.C.E being my ults, I truly hope to see them get the recognition and praise they deserve. They work so hard and love fans constantly, they are a group with a special place in my heart! I'm so proud of how far they've come, they are Korea's best-kept secret. And the growth is shown here. Higher is such an emotional captivating song that brings a new sound to them, it showcases that they are all great vocalists and dancers. And the mv is gorgeous, still not over donghuns jacket part... I only wish them the very best results for this comeback. So please sleep on beds, not on A.C.E! Everyone should totally check out their Immortal Song stage, it showcases their ability so much. And A.C.E is known for having some of the best covers, so please check them out! Don't forget to stream Higher!

I don't think they are underrated. Everyone knows they are talented singers and dancers, even other kpop artists always tell that ace are great dancers and singers. They also partecipated to some talent shows and won or got into finals, so people actually aknowledge their talent. They simply don't get the fame they deserve. And unluckily fame and talent don't always go together... I can easily think of a big big kpop group that started going globally viral as soon as it started doing crappy songs... I won't write its name 'cause they have a huge fandom... I wish ace could get what they deserve, and i still can't guess if it's only because they are from a small company (that for instance makes awesome promotions, better than bigger companies) or if it's because their songs are too complex for casual listeners. I usually listen to metal, goth and alt music.. and I know that other choices are from alternative backgrounds, so they are used to complex sounds..

he literally stole wow's spot on my bias list with this comeback. like he was always my bias wrecker, i have a huge appreciation for his vocals. but the more he ages the more attractive he becomes. i also just think that's an age thing, i am only a year younger than him and i have an appreciation for men my age lol. the babyface phase is starting to bore me, i need authentic men that get wrinkles around their eyes and laugh lines, etc. lol. but anyway, his long hair won me over. wow is still my bias, i find him very attractive, but donghun ages like fine wine. ♥ such a beautiful man.

I appreciate Beat Interactive so much. To me it very much feels like they are doing everything they can to push A.C.E toward success. Based off how gorgeous their music videos have been for the past couple years they don't act like a tiny company with no money, and they do such a great job of supporting and promoting them. I’m so glad you liked it because Higher is really up there with Goblin as my favorite A.C.E comeback. Yes, Sehyoon is back fully. He's been in all the promotions and everything. He really only took a few months off, it was less than other idols have taken for anxiety imo (it was Down he wasn't in the MV for, even though his voice was). He seems well though.

Thank you for the reaction! They usually work with DOT, but this MV was filmed by Elements Video Lab. Elements Video Lab it's a Video Production Academy founded by the Directors of Rigend Film and AOTD. According to the (now deleted) post on the Academy's IG, this MV is a final project of their advanced class. A.C.E's american deal with Asian Agent is for management, not distribution, btw. And we don't like it anymore, AA ceo has 0 respect for the fandom. Money probably partially came from Swing Ent, as they co-manage A.C.E together with Beat Int for Korean promotions now. I hope you'll check out the performances, they are very atmospheric and beautiful, and the members also participated in the choreo making! I recommend Inkigayo, Music Core and The Show stages.

Ngl I was initially worried about A.C.E. being in a smaller company, I couldn't help but feel that their comebacks could potentially fall flat depending on budget. Completely agree with your thoughts! This song is pure art. Wow took a little break in April and first half of May (during Down promo and a few performances, for Down he was on the song, just not in the MV). His official return was on his birthday and the boys held a special surprise for him cause they convinced him they couldn't make it for his birthday due to schedules but they showed up as soon as he blew out the candles and had a fun vlive all together. It really seems like he is doing so much better, he looks very happy again and they even made him a temporary leader for the start of this promotion period to get his confidence back up.

I am so proud of them for that, because they know they have incredible rappers but they also knew they didn't have to put rap in this song, and I'd love to see more of that within k-pop but yeah the more and more I listen to this song, the more I love the emotional parts that just break your heart, like that stripped down part from donghun that you mentioned and the beginning of the bridge (the "don't be sorry line). so even though there were some bizarre decisions with the release schedule and MV, no matter what I think we all know this is one of the most iconic, special A.C.E comebacks ever I also love what you said about them graduating to the heavy-weight class, A.C.E has always been in a class of their own and I'm glad they have a label behind them to support that

Thank you for always doing great reactions to A.C.E’s releases because as amazing as the mv is, it definitely needs more attention. Btw Wow was not in the Down MV but is fully back now (they also kinda asked the fans not to make too big of a deal out of it since he’s doing better). Aside from the US management (which has been very quiet since the entire fandom strongly opposed NFTs and during the current promotions - maybe bc it’s a Korea oriented comeback? Not sure how exactly that works) I think it’s important to consider that they are now also co-managed by Swing Entertainment in Korea which will hopefully help with domestic popularity.

yeees I was waiting for this thnx. I'm so happy you liked it and gave it 11/10 Higher is different from what they usually do but still manages to have that A.C.E sound that we know and love. The demo for Higher was originally a slow sentimental song so they worked on it to make it more of a dance sound also A.C.E helped with the choreo. A.C.E are way overdue for a first win and sadly people are still sleeping on them and Donghun and Wow will have to enlist soon so we don't have much time with all of them :( but hopefully, this comeback will get A.C.E some recognition. They always try new things, never follow trends and are true aces I wish I can give them the world because they deserve it .

So i'm not so sure with this music video (i need to check the credits again) but for the rest of the music videos since debut, DOT production have basically produced, edited and directed their mvs. Also on the topic of american labels, I believe you mean Asian Agent, which are a new company and meant to be promoters only, so I doubt they brought in money for the music video. Swing now co-managing A.C.E for korean schedules is much more likely as to why the mv production looked so good. Also Wow is back for full promotions ^^ and he was in goblin but not down.

This song definitely elevates themselves with what with they doing in previous comeback and i wouldnt called this is a summer song either based on the song progression. It feels alot different yet you can sense theres ACE "touch" within the song. To me its a roller coaster emotion song, you feel happy, sad, and some sort of encouragement. Even though it's not my favourite song, I totally agree that everything about this comeback is such a step-up for A.C.E. The MV is incredibly beautiful, the structure of the song is just *chef's kiss* Really glad to see them expand their horizon and keep growing. They totally deserve it. I feel like I was walking around lost and looking for something unknown that was calling out to me. Then I started to get weighed down by not finding it. Then when Donghun says, 'calling you', I am able to hear the call clearly and I get back to my feet and RUN. The last chorus is the feeling of crashing into that persons arms, finally found and where I belong. A.C.E did this beautifully. They feel like home.

I'm so happy you liked it ! I wish you gave more analyse on the MV directing/editing and stuff because it's always super interesting. (But it's just a personal wish, you're the boss !) As of now, Choice has been a bit disappointed with the rankings, views, etc. for this comeback. So what you said about A.C.E evolving to next level was comforting to hear ^_^ I wonder if Beat predicted it ? Because Higher is (probably) about going higher, out to the surface of water, to try and reach the moon (= achieving higher goals ?) but in the end Chan as the little mermaid turns into bubbles (= they couldn't reach the goals ?). But apparently the song in the storyline is one dream that compose their worldview (= not a definitive ending ?). Sorry, I don't know if that makes sense XD

I just found them because I listend to their cover for "Youngblood" from 5SOS and I loved their voices so much that I wanted to know who they are. So I searched after them and while I listening something on YT there came songs from A.C.E too. I can't remember which one it was, but I think it was "Higher" what I first heard of them or "Changer". But definetly this two were in my algorithm and then the other songs. I am totaly new to K-Pop. I just listend to BTS at radio XD But A.C.E are aces! I love this boys and I am sad that I didn't found them sooner. They are my only choosen K-Pop group I am stan for. I am CHOICE! They deserve so much more!

i was so waiting for this! you voiced all of my opinions about this comeback lol . I know people say this a lot about the groups that they like but : at this point, i don't know what it takes to make a.c.e jump into the "mainstream" of kpop, they're all main dancers, the 3 vocalists are main vocalists and the 2 main rappers also have main vocalist quality, they have outstanding stage presence and their music and aesthetic is unique, powerful and polished; it genuinely confuses me

As for Higher, I fall for it more and more. In the first moments, I was a little surprised because I expected a hard-hitting sound similar to their other titles but what they have done with Higher is undeniably very good. It is nice to see A.C.E progress. This comeback is a whole package of fine art. As others mentioned, the concept photos alone should win some kind of award. They are stunning.

such a different sound to their other comebacks but i really really loved it so much it had this solemn feel too it and also like mysterious kind of idk how to explain it but i love the way it makes me feel like it’s just a beautiful song and i totally agree with the “fine art” like that is so true

This song is so like ethereal as well as the aesthetically pleasing mv and sets, etc. Donghuns section with like the abrupt change with that ticking sound is so different to any other title track they have done. Killer comeback duhh

"Fine art" is EXACTLY how I feel about it! It's like walking through a mixed-artist statue exhibit, you appreciate each one but A.C.E's Higher is the one that makes ou double back many times. It's ethereal and haunting. And it's definitely intentional in terms of the concept theme. They are tragic sirens; doomed to sing & love from afar or risk death (it has a lot of metaphoric connotations for A.C.E as performers during a worldwide pandemic too, now that I think about it.) Anyway, this ethereal, visually stunning, audibly stunning, and haunting vibe is definitely associated with common folklore of mermaids, so it's all such a beautiful art-piece on display to captivate those that find it.
