You can notice in every song jayb composed for GOT7's songs like teenager , page , come on and thursday . It has the same pattern of rapline has more shining moment in the song mainly jackson in the chorus. Also whenever jayb or jinyoung compose a song for the group ,they try to make the rap line sing more in the track.

To me, this song is not like their title tracks picked out by that company. This falls in line with their B sides which, to me, was where they truly shined. If you listen to Come On, you'll find similarities with the "rappers" Jackson, Mark and BamBam singing more and if you notice, Bam's adlibs are very prominent. JB wrote this song and he knows how to utilize the boys' talent and where their voices fit the best.
@vixxexo68552 жыл бұрын
Well honestly this track screams GOT7 for me and reminds me of their other bright tracks like «Look», «You are», «Fly» and «Lullaby». I could totally picture it be the title track even if they were still with JYP. But I’m so glad they are free and can have way more freedom and the only got thing JYP did for GOT7 is to not make them leave on a bad term like the stuff that happened to Jessica and Highlight and they got to keep the GOT7 brand.
@YelleHughes2 жыл бұрын
@@vixxexo6855 Look and You Are were written by JB and yes, it's all Got7 but ever since leaving, G7 didn't have someone nitpick and change their work to fit that company's standards. You can tell the difference. As for "they got to keep"...it's more complex than that. More like they had to fight for and demand their name and brand away from ex-company.

@@vixxexo6855 Nah. I’ve been with Got7 since debut and Jay B knew what he was doing with this song lol. He gave it the same vibe as their most popular/fan-favorite b-sides. If JYPE let this be their title track, JYP would’ve made Jay B change it 12 more times first. Nanana *is* Got7 for sure, but it’s not a title track that JYP’s Got7 would’ve been allowed to have. It would’ve been one of their b-sides like Come on, Teenager, Page, and Thursday.

in regards to your comment about the song being "different": in recent interviews jayb said jyp had inputs in their albums/songs, as in jyp had a sort of style and vision for them, to align with the company, and this song is just, purely GOT7. if you zoom in the credits at the end, you will notice it says "executive producers: GOT7", so basically they wrote all the songs in the EP, they voted on which would be the title track and had complete freedom to do what they wanted. This comeback/EP is true GOT7.

@@oldefsoul1873 I won't say they were groomed tho, they have been writting most of their songs since 2016, they had a say in their music, even released solo songs in their albums, like JB said during their last press conference it was about finding a middle ground, they had to discuss things and make artistic choices not by themselves only but by discussing things with the company. I can say that compared to other kpop groups Got7 was hands on when it came to their music ( since 2016 at least) , their last album "Breath : Last piece" was even totally self produced according to JB. The members even wrote a lot of title songs in the past like Aura, Not by the moon, Teenager, Eclipse, Look, Breath, Last piece...They obviously had to compromise with their company like most artists but it's not fair to say all the music they have released for years is not their color at all or was totally forced on them.

Probably the reason why this doesn't sound like 'the typical got7 title song' is because this time, the members have the full control on the production and direction of the song. Like they don't need to edit it multiple times just to fit what their previous company wants. This has more of a Page and Teenager type of vibe to it which are B sides. And the members themselves said that this is the most GOT7 album ever. I hope you can react to the other songs in the album, too because every song is a BOP and the members contributed to the tracks! Jay B actually said that after hearing members solos, especially rappers and seeing how amazing they sing, he was wondering how he could incomporate their singing more in GOT7 too. He was jokingly saying "since they're so good at singing who will be a rapper" so he definitely took it into consideration with line distribution. Jackson in the chorus is nothing new though, Jay B loves giving him chorus parts in his songs. Let's take PAGE, THURSDAY or TEENAGER (all fans favorite btw), they all have Jackson in the chorus and they're all Jay B's songs. NANANA is also Jay B's and GOT7 specifically chose it as a title because they knew it's a vibe we, as Ahgases wanted from them since a loooong looong time ago. And you got it right with the bright vibe. They wanted to give us something hopeful and positive, as a sort of reward. I'm just so proud of them, the entire comeback made me so emotional. I never doubted they'll return. Have been their hardcore fan since years, Ahgases is the only fandom I associate myself with so when they're said #GOT7FOREVER I had no doubts they're serious. And yet hoping and waiting still didn't prepare me for actually getting GOT7 back. Happy, free GOT7. Who don't care anymore about anything else than just being together, bringing great music and having fun with us, fans. It's so refreshing how much confidence they gained and yet when they gathered together they created the best kind of harmony. It's like seven different colors creating rainbow, I guess. The entire EP is soooo good too. It easily became my number 1 of all GOT7 albums, maybe because not only the songs are 10/10 but also the way the boys explained each track felt so important. It's just them, in the purest form and as a fan I couldn't be happier and more thankful. They did say they'll do their best to come back every 2-3 years, so the fact that they're leaving us with this absolutely perfect album before they're back to their solo stuff, is more than good enough for me. Not seeing myself getting tired of any of those songs anytime soon. If ever. Thank you for the reaction! :)

To start with, the recent GQ Australia piece on GOT7 will help a great deal in understanding their intentions and mindset for this comeback, and the choices they made in relation to it. It's also a good read if you want a good portrait of the group. The theme of the comeback is both building a new home and coming back home. The music video is basically a fanciful take on building and designing a home. There's lots of bird imagery to emphasize the idea that their fandom (ahgase/baby birds) are with them in this process. As for the song itself, Nanana is very similar in spirit to fan favorite B-Side G7 songs particularly: Teenager, Thursday, Come On, and Page. And I'm quite sure it's intentional, they made it the title track bc they know what their fans want. My understanding is, this self titled album is a baseline for their future work. It's a kind of introduction on who they are as a group, and the kind of music that THEY think fits them.

oh deym very well said. These boys are not only very talented and like being all-rounders with very humble personalities at that. The thing that really got me enveloped into the fandom is that because just like the MV for NANANA, where all elements are connected, the overall experience with the fandom itself, and the sincerity that the boys are giving to the fans is already a big big factor. Not to mention how I think they are one of the groups, if not the only, to actually have a very good and genuine relationship with each other. You know like this wasn't a comeback "for the sake of" having the comeback but a genuine relationship with their fans, just like their genuine friendship and brotherhood with each other and also, even their families are very close to one another and are as humble and supporting as they all are. I mean I don't know other groups who have this kind of a very strong and genuine bond. And for me, aside from them being wise as they grew older, this relationship, and genuine bond with each other is what made this comeback a huge success. And I can't wait for the next years to come.

They have also incorporated the birds to represent ahgases. The concept of the comeback is homecoming. So the MV feels like coming home. One reactor I watched mentioned that the song feels like a warm breeze. Not explosive and it probably does not intend to be something other than a promise being fulfilled. Nanana isn't my favorite from the album because it sounds like a B-side track. But it has a very very very catchy chorus. I find myself oh eh ohing randomly.
@mabellla34452 жыл бұрын
Hi, as for the story of the MV there is a simple thing to know. The theme of the comeback is "under construction" and "home coming". You can see on their teasers that they're building a house (the new GOT7 logo). A new home. Which is the basic storyline. They had a home (the G) and created a new base (bambams part). After that their mission was to find a new place or the right way for them. And the birds are with them. They help GOT7 and are by their side even in dark times. You can see them after the house leaves the dark clouds. The birds are everywhere. They even fly in the next scene inside of the house. Its a simple story of creating or finding a new place for GOT7. And that Ahgase are the reason for them to keep going on. Because of Ahgase they can exist and enter new places.

Jay B actually has song credits for this track, along with iHwak! They've done similar songs for GOT7 together before (songs which are universally ahgase-favorites, which I believe is why they also chose this as title track, since they wanted to cater to fan favorites) such as Thursday (Call My Name b-side) and Teenager (7 for 7 b-side). It's pretty similar in terms of format too--I think with Jay B-iHwak songs they generally come in that structure, more remarkably always a Jackson chorus/killing part. EDIT: They also actually called this GOT7's real sound, which I believe ahgases would readily agree with :)

Thanks for your reaction💚 they mentioned that they went with this style because it's reminiscent of fan favorites like page, thursday and teenager. As Jackson said, this is not their final form. In the future they'll focus more on their true sound that they haven't been able to show a lot of till now 😊 Also they initially wanted to come back end of last year, but scheduling wise that wasn't possible. I think part of the reason they wanted to come back now, was because we'll have two members enlist at the end of this year and it would then take a very long time for them to make a full group comeback. I also think they just really missed each other and performing together 💚

YES!!! This song feels like the perfect blend of all of their separate styles. It’s a bit brighter than what Yugyeom’s been doing, but there are other songs on the album that play into that. They seem almost under a lot less pressure. Like they’re more concerned with pleasing themselves and ahgases than impressing the kpop industry.

With this comeback, you can really see how much the members have grown in the time they focused on their solo activities. I'm glad they all look and sound more confident now 💚 Their songs in this new album gave a familiar vibe, but the way they divided lines etc somehow felt more experimental and newer. Anyway, thanks for reacting to GOT7's comeback so fast, PD! 💚 Always appreciate it!

It doesn't sound like a typical GOT7 title track (i.e.: Eclipse, Not By The Moon, Last Piece). Like the comments posted here before me, they heavily inspired by their previous b-side tracks: Teenager, Page, Come On, Thursday which heavily relies on brisk instrumental and catchy Jackson chorus which is a fan favorite of our fandom. So we're quite familiar with this style of music from them. I think for this comeback, they chose to give in to our fandom's request and it may be minimalistic for some people's taste but it definitely suits to ahgases' taste. They've always talked about wanting those b-sides mentioned to become a title track but unfortunately they weren't able to do so under the prev. company. GOT7 has always known what kind of music they want to put out as a group and now that they're able to do so, I am looking forward to their future release because it's fully under their creative control.

As an ahgase I was also very surprised to get a full comeback with an EP, a music video and even a physical album so quickly (but also very happy!) I think they seem like they're having so much fun in the mv cause they truly are, all the members seemed very happy and excited about this comeback and I think they wanted that fun atmosphere to translate in the title track

For your information. If you saw their concept album teaser. The concept is under construction - packing up - finishing touch (rebranding GOT7) Then the MV concept is about them inviting ahgase to their new house. For the reason of GOT7 comeback. They wanted to comeback since early 2022 but it keep getting delayed cause of their solo schedules. They also wanted it to comeback before Jay B and Jinyoung enlisting. Their next plan now is trying to comeback as a group every 2-3 years (for album) and they might probably gonna release a single in between. Hopefully they can make it work.

- I guess I don’t really know what you mean by “are they eyeing the global market” because GOT7 is one of the top global groups in kpop. This album alone reached #1 in 95 countries something that only BTS has been able to do. GOT7 is also the only other boy group to ever have a #1 Album & #1 song on iTunes in the US besides BTS. And we’re nominated for 2 billboard awards. Sooooo I’m confused at how that’s not already a given🫠 - I think this song is very much GOT7’s musical color if you know there real sound which are the btracks of got7 you’ll know. And the reason Bambam sounds similar is because often Bambam uses songs that are similar to G7’s color as a group for example Ride or Die even bam & youngjae said that some of Bam’s songs sound like G7 songs. Slow Mo was originally written for G7 but the company turned it down. - this song was written by Jayb if you listen to GOT7’s Come On, Page, Teenager, Believe, Special, No one else, Shopping Mall, & so much more you’ll see how this song is perfect

NANANA is actually produced and composed by Jay B. Some songs he's produced when they were in JYP are Teenage, Page, Come On, Thursday, which are all fan-favourites. Jay B's music for the group has a significant sound, which is Jackson in/starting the chorus.

MV concept wise, it is very bambam, but song wise, it is 100% GOT7 color, the whole album and all tracks scream GOT7. Listen to Page, Look, Teenager, and Thursday, those are the classics that define GOT7 color. They're mostly b-sides, but those are actually the kind of song they want to do as a group, fun and upbeat songs JAY B composed most of the classics, and this time he came up with nanana and 2 other tracks in the album. About line distribution, he always does his best to give equal lines so it's nothing new What makes JAY B's songs stand out is because he knows how to utilize the members vocal and where to sign them in songs. If you listen to the songs I mentioned earlier, Jackson is mostly signed in the chorus, and it works perfectly. JAY B's pen with Jackson in the chorus is the typical GOT7-color song, and all fans acknowledge that The members themselves said GOT7 fits with a bright and fun concept the most. They shine the brightest when they're having fun. So the fun and bright concept is not necessarily marketed the tiktok pop scene, it's just the concept they're best doing at and have been always wanted to do

This song is actually GOT7's TRUE & REAL COLOR! This chill, yet catchy vibe! Like their B-side tracks, 'Thursday', 'Teenager', 'Page', and 'Come On' - these have ALWAYS been their true color and ahgases' favorite tracks, which is why this title was created by the same people and, ultimately, Jay B. If you hear the little ad-libs, like the 'OU OU', 'SKRT SKRT', and 'SHEESH', it's also very GOT7! As an ahgase, the CONCEPT itself is much more colorful than what we have seen from them, but as for the SONG - no, it's GOT7's sound! JACKSON ON THE CHORUS IS WHAT AHGASES HAVE ALWAYS WANTED! WE LOVE THIS COMEBACK AND GOT7 HAS SHOWN THE KPOP WORLD THAT THEY DON'T NEED THE BIG 4 AND CAN PRODUCE A SUCCESSFUL ALBUM ON THEIR OWN! THEY ARE TRAILBLAZERS AND HAVE THE STRONGEST BOND IN ALL OF KPOP! 👑🙌🏽💚🐥

Idk if you heard it but before this comeback, Bambam asked ahgase what kinda concept that ahgase like for the next comeback and alot of ahgase said lullaby. So I think they considered that. On the fancon all GOT7 members, Jayb said this comeback really dedicated to the fans, because we're only have each other now. So yeah. And I think you should listen to the whole album, PD. The songs are super good. There's a song called Truth, Jayb said that song is worth to be a title song too.

This song is actually what the members’ themselves have always said was Got7’s color. If you look back to b-sides such as Page, Come On and Teenager (basically any song where Jackson is singing the chorus) have what Got7 calls their sound. The title tracks were mainly what JYPE’s vision of Got7 was. Also for the MV, it’s supposed to represent them moving outta their old home (ex-company) and creating a new home of their own with their fans right at their side (all the birds in the MV represent Ahgase). During BamBam’s part in the beginning you can see a little window that says “GOT7’s New Home” behind him. Glad you enjoyed the song tho! You should look up some of the interviews they did, you can see the joy radiate off of them. They’re so happy to be back together, not just for fans, but for each other. They really see each other as family. 💚💜

It's good to know what non-ahgases see when they watch this MV. We know this is a construction concept - GOT7 building a house/nest for themselves and ahgases. It's also about rebuilding their brand. There are lots of birds references. And ahgases know this song and EP are all self-produced, so we not too surprised it sounds different than their usual title tracks. We even celebrate it as GOT7 showing their true colours and its similarity with fan favourites "Page", "Thursday" and "Teenager". And we are just so freaking happy that they are happy and free and kept their promise.

Tell me you have no clue about got7 and their actual discography in one vid : This is actually their own style. All the b sides they produced from past albums have that vibe anyone that knows got7 outside their title tracks knows that this is their true style. We all know that JYPE forced on them most of the title tracks when they were in that label like that was literally one of the biggest reason on why they left. Saying you would expect another type of song from them ( and you’re not the only one saying that) is exactly showing how people barely listen to their actual work both as solo and a group. Like this is exactly what they always wanted to do and exactly the vibe we always got from their b sides and solos. I’m pretty sure they exactly chose NANANA who is chiller than other tracks from the EP exactly to prove that now they can chose whatever song they feel like as a title track and to prove that this is them.

right, i decided to follow them since NTBM era because i listened to Shopping Mall and i wasnt familiar with that kind of sound in the industry of kpop. When i listened to NTBM, i was kinda taken aback because it sounds so different with the rest of songs in their albums. Learning about their journey and with the recent GQ AU interview just validated the fact that they really tried to push their sound through b-sides, but their former label had more power compared to the members. When Nanana came out (even through the preview), i instantly knew it was the sound they tried to pursue since God knows when.
@sonia43132 жыл бұрын
@@eggcelentpun yep most of the fandom ever since they started writing producing ( since the flight log era) actually knows that title tracks are always different and not their true style. We all actually prefer the b sides to the titles in general. I get that random listeners don’t know about it but some so called specialized channels that are doing that for years should at least inform themselves or try to listen more than title tracks and it goes for every group or artists before « judging » or making remarks that we all know is untrue or biased. But at least he himself said that he doesn’t know them/ their discography like that

@@sonia4313 PD has a listening party for the whole Spinning Top album so this take on Nanana as a title track left me scratching my head. Got7 has always had a sound that is a little outside kpop and would be adopted by TikTok. Like Teenager/Thursday would have blown up if Tiktok was as relevant when they came out. They always have bright songs that they just vibe to on their albums even if the main concept is more mature/dark. This is definitely Got7 color.

I think that this song was made for us to feel like we’re back home, the fact that the bird flies into the home in the beginning to me it represents that we are home, we are together, and each individual room represents that although they are GOT7 they also get to be themselves. The sound honesty still feels like GOT7 the only real difference is that you could feel the freedom, honestly as an Ahgase I am so proud of them and how far they’ve come. The hard work they put and they are like a home to us.

They describe themselves as "biggest charm when having fun" and this is 100% that. For fans that have known their B-sides, this can't be more GOT7 :) And we all expected this type of sound from them. Teenager, Come On, Page, Thursday. It's written by the same team as NANANA. Ahgases know that NANANA is a very GOT7 like song. The members also said it themselves in their recent interviews. They’ve been doing this type of music like PAGE in Spinning top album, THURSDAY in You calling my name, TEENAGER in 7 for 7, COME ON in Present: You&Me. (All of these are produced by def/JayB like NANANA). In every comeback they expressed their want for this songs to be their title track but JYP wouldn’t allow them saying it’s not their color and they fall to their B-side tracks instead but which in the end fans really really love more than their title tracks. Like PAGE is Ahgases anthem but it almost didn’t make it to the album’s list of songs. And now that they are indipendent they finally showed us this is their type of music hence they titled their EP GOT7. It’s not new to them but it’s GOT7. This is a self-titled album. Regarding the MV it seems that Bambam really had an influence in this. He did a survey and found out most Ahgases wants a Lullaby-like comeback so they made it dreamy. Their physical album’s theme is construction (building their own house) and their MV is the final result of that home. That also represents they now have a new home and have rebranded and they welcome us Aghases once again. But everyone should listen to their whole album it’s a no skip. I remember you reacting to spinning top and liking every song. This new album is very good. 💚

In terms of the sound itself, it isn't anything new from what they've been doing from before which also holds true to other songs in the album itself. The biggest thing tho is how they played around with the vocals. Like true, in songs written by the members back then they'd often experiment with the rappers singing but with this album, the vocal range for the rappers actually vary. In some songs ATK would sing in a higher pitch, in some songs it's the usual we'd hear from them. That's imo tho :)
