Pour une projection a moins de 3 mètres le ELFIN est absolument Top...Bravo pour tes tests je suis grand fan. Je partais sur un Nebula capsule 3 pour sa portabilité et sa batterie...mais bon le Elfin à l'air de faire vachement mieux. A tous: ALLEZ LIRE les tests de Laurent...vraiment!

No, nothing noticeable but I'm not very sensitive to this. Rainbow is always possible on any DLP projector. Regarding the focus, no I did not encounter any issue, they both have automatic focus so if you move them, it will refocus the image immediately.

Hi Laurent. One question more if you don't mind about the Xgimi. Being the remote a bluetooth one, everytime we turn on the projector we need to paring the remote?, or is just the first time and after will be "automatic"?

yes you only need to do it once, it works the same way as with your phone, once you pair something it remains paired until you decide to disconnect it (ex: headset, smartwatch,...)

It's the same DLP chip so in terms of picture quality it will be more or less the same but the Formovie is much brighter, has more contrast and better sound.

With the price difference and a short distance, I would choose the Formovie. If you want a bigger and sharper image, the XGIMI will be better (up to a certain size too).

The Wemax is using the same DLP chip as the Elfin so the result should be comparable. I haven't tested it so I don't really know if has better color. Contrast will be the same, sharpening might be better on the Elfin.

Salut, je viens de découvrir ton site en faisant des recherches sur les 2 projecteurs, incroyablement complet les test merci pour ce travail ! J’édite vraiment entre les 2 et la compatibilité 3D me donne très envie sur le Elfin, même si son faible contraste me fais peur, pense tu que la 3D est trop gadget pour sacrifier le contraste et 100€ ou c’est un vrai avantage à prendre en compte pour le Elfin ?

Merci :) Je pense que ça dépend de tes attentes. Je ne vois pas la 3D, je fais partie de ce % de la population qui ne sait pas la voir. C'est pour ça que je ne la teste pas. En dehors de ce problème purement personnel, je pense que la 3D a connu son heure de gloire il y a quelques années mais je vois de moins en moins de contenus adaptés. A moins de vraiment adorer ça, je pense que ça ne devrait pas être un critère de choix trop important.

@@laurentwillen J’ai déjà une bonne TV donc un projecteur qui supporte la 3D m’offrais plus de possibilité, après si je perd trop en qualité d’image par rapport au formovie oui c’est peut être ridicule pour seulement 10% de film 3D .. ( mais de sacré film.. mad max fury road, l’étrange Noël de mr jack, avatar etc )

Hello Edgar, merci :) la distance va également jouer un rôle car la lumière décroit avec le carré de la distance. A quel distance le projecteur sera-t-il placé? Le Elfin pourrait suffire en fonction de la distance. Il y a pour l'instant une grosse baisse de prix sur le Elfin (619€ avec mon code promo).

@@edgarcuenot Pour obtenir une image de cette taille, il faut prendre un recul entre 1m70 et 1m80 en ligne droite. C'est la limite max du Mogo2Pro. Par contre pour le Formovie, aucun problème. La vidéo a été prise à une distance de 2m5 (écran gain 1.2) donc ça donne une idée de ce que tu pourrais obtenir.

the Z7X seems to be brighter (in theory) but I don't believe they can achieve 1200 lumen ansi with this projector. The main difference will come from the software where the Z7X is only available in Chinese (and English for the settings)

My subjective feeling would say that the Formovie has better sound. The Elfin is not bad but sometimes I feel like it's missing some coverage in low frequencies. For the image, the Elfin is sharper than the Formovie, you will see more details because it's using a better dlp chip. If you keep the Formovie on a small screensize you may not see the difference.

oui c'est exact et cela dépend de la taille d'écran. A cette taille d'écran le Elfin fait mieux car il a une puce DLP de 0.33 pouces là où le Formovie a une puce de 0.23 pouces. Sur un écran de grande taille, la différence est visible mais sur un écran de petite taille, la différence sera plus difficile à percevoir.

@@laurentwillen je vais projeter à 2m50 sur un mur blanc dans le noir et ce un peu partout dans la maison. J’ai commandé le Mogo 2 pro finalement qui a l’air d’être très bien et également car je peux lui joindre une powerbank afin de le rendre nomade. J’ai vite écarté le Fengmi car trop d’incertitudes sur la garantie et aussi pour un renvoi si problème il y a.

@@lailaesquer il est bien mais il faut une pièce assez sombre parce qu'il est moins lumineux que le Elfin et il utilise la même puce DLP que le Formovie.
