Formula 1 drivers season #16 🏁 1965
In 1965, the 16th season of Formula 1 organized by the FIA took place, which saw Jim Clark become world champion for the second time with Lotus, winning 6 out of 10 Grand Prix. In second place with BRM was the Englishman Graham Hill and in third place, again with BRM, was the debutant Jackie Stewart, who won the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. In 1965, Jim Clark managed to have a more efficient fuel for his Lotus. While BRM, considered by many to be slightly superior to Lotus, had to pay for the human side of its drivers and Ferrari was distracted by its commitments in the Prototypes, Clark and Lotus formed a winning duo, managing to also win a Grand Prix, that of South Africa with a protective corset due to the consequences of a bad fall on the ice, and one, that of Great Britain, with the single-seater broken down for 30 of the 80 scheduled laps. Clark and Lotus also managed to dominate the Indianapolis 500, with the Scotsman becoming the first Formula 1 driver to achieve the feat.
It is worth noting the first victory in the Formula 1 world championship of a non-European brand: the HONDA RA272 driven by the American Richie Ginther won the final race of the championship, the Mexican Grand Prix.
