I do drive manual. One of the best tips i can give is to upshift when all the blue dots are filled and follow guides or experiment to find what gear to be in for each corner in a track

With an 2024 evans i got an 1:05:8 which I think it's not bad at all. But I'm pretty sure if I get all the apexs right, maybe I can do a 1:05:2 or 3.

What does the yellow s2 mean? Does it make you earn less money?

yellow sectors mean you made no improvement on the best time in that sector and it doesn't affect the money you earn at the end, its the overall time that affects how much for get per lap
