Where is Daigo? Thought he said he would be coming back this year? And what's with only 30 drivers? No Mad Mike, Kenny Mohen, Tyler McQuarrie or Wang... FD lost a lot of big names this year. :(

Mad Mike said he was stopping from competing in Formula Drift because America was so far from his home (New Zealand) and he wanted to spend time with wife and children. Unfortunate, but his reasons are understandable.

Seems like the judges are pulling some of these scores out their asses. Or maybe they just need to breakdown and explain some of the scores better.

Nick, I recommend listening to the Maximum Driftcast podcasts, they often have guests including the founders, driver's and staff of Formula D and a few other series. The Driftcast boys often go into the rules and why they are what they are.

Scoring in this sport is so stupid 😂
@yaintracingshit5127 жыл бұрын
503_blue_widow Ganja Only the US scoring Is stupid. If we used Japan's scoring they would get rid of favoritism, but that means less money for them so they have to keep it like this.

Hence why a massive change in management would be welcome
@garrettpalmer36987 жыл бұрын
Simple WoT Blitz Replays You're wrong in terms of it being stupid. People can complain about FD all day long, but if we switched to a electronic system such as D1's only quick drivers like Aasbo would win. In actuality the Japanese system of judging favors speed way more than any other series especially FD. Btw FD judging isn't biased, the drivers who tend to win just fulfill the judges requests in terms clipping points, acceleration and deceleration zones, and smoothness. Although they may not be as exciting as a Wang type of run, you can't fault the judges for making decisions based off of the rubric.

503_blue_widow Ganja, Have you checked out the Maximum Driftcast podcast? They often have guests including the judges and founders of Formula D. They go into depth on why the rules are what they are and what failed in the past. And they're funny. Lots of spaghetti. And hot dogs.
@garrettpalmer36987 жыл бұрын
CORRUPTxLATIN Yes I am telling you that it fulfilled the judges requirements. It was extremely smooth with no corrections and he was, although not right there with Coffman or Gitten, only 3 feet off the first clipping point and 1.5-2 feet off the second (much closer than Coffman on the second despite my hopes for a Matteo win this round). By the way are you just gonna pull it out of your ass that D1 appreciates style more??? The Coffman run would've been just an 81 if not for his massive angle on the first corner and consequently the judges rewarded him for his massive balls. Go ahead and keep mindlessly complaining about the judging but the facts are that the have to judge based upon criteria and not just spur of the moment excitement.
