Watching my boy Kazuya Taguchi throw down heater after heater was so awesome and gave big St. Louis vibes. He has such amazing potential when he gets dialed in. RTR is just such a powerful team and Chelsea was looking pretty dialed this event. Overall a very exciting event. Also shoutout to Robbie Nishida as a judge and commentator. He's certainly my favorite and I think is making the most sensible calls.

Judging was pretty consistent this time and followed the brief. It makes for a better show to get close proximity and some door rubbing rather than sitting back in the pocket mimicking. I get that it takes skill but so does that perfect transition to suck right but up on them. So long as there aren't major compromises it should be rewarded more. There were only a couple times where the boring run won so didn't affect the results too much. Drivers knew what they were being judged on so all fair.

@Formula DRIFT I saw the clock after the hit, but then he went back out to make it to the final. Then, came back in for another long break for repairs. They were back into the left rear corner and also replacing the plug wires. He had already used his competition time out on the previous repair. Was there some other clock they got for repairs?

@@Cronus_1 Well, no. When there is a final each driver get the equivalent of a battle and a half to prepare the cars so we can actually have a final, which, we feel is in the best interest of the sport.

again someone preferably FD themselves PLEASE explain why the second battle between Field and Ryan went OMT.. Field hit second IC2 and still lost a bunch of proximity, Ryan didnt hit IC2 and had much greater proximity. Matt Field also hit that IC2 on his lead aswell whereas Ryan didnt. The fact that it went OMT is an embarrassment to the sport

Lead Tuerck: Good, but drops 2 tires at the beginning of OZ2. Field Chase: Biggest mistakes are IC1 to IC2 where he cuts the line and hits the IC2, also slightly less angle on bank, but not super bad. Lead Field: Perfect lead. Really nothing wrong. He taps IC2, but not aggressively and this allows a good chase by Tuerck. Field wins the leads, Tuerck wins the chases. One judge goes to Tuerck, the other two go OMT.

Damn, I was disgusted again to see this inconsistent judging, some people was pushed forward, the other has been disadvantaged. Again Field was pushed forward, unfortunately for him he lost too obvious. I am an Aasbo fan, but this event was hard to watch. After watching this, I have to admit that more than one of his battles was not a deserved win (especially with Hurst), and the judges could not explain really why, at least Robbie Nishida had the decency to give OMT. FD: leave this shitty judging, and get inspiration from DMEC (last year) and RDS (this year season) with visible judging criteria for everybody. We know that some people has to be pushed forward because of marketing and sponsorship reasons, but this starts to be really disturbing judging. On the other hand, big congrats for Denofa, finally he got there, I am not a big fan, but I really appreciate this flamboyant driving style. Also congrats for everybody, it was a hell of a show with many many surpises.

All criteria is completely visible and knowable. You just have to look at it and learn it.

@@formuladrift Yes. True. Just it is not a transparent judging. Some rules apply for ones and doesn't apply to the others. I really don't say that it is easy to judge, and everybody is appreciating the technical improvements, but is really not enough. for example last year's DMEC judging system was more transparent, also I have seen very sophisticated telemetry data scrutinizing in RDS series, these things don't lye. Maybe with things like that you will not be criticized for subjective judging...like now. Except that we (fans) appreciate all the job you and the teams do for everybody's enetertainment.

It is until you realize that just doing that can add 45-60 minutes to the end of the event and when you buttress that against sound ordinances and trying to maintain a predictable ending time, it doesn’t work.

There are pros and cons, like FD explained. But the current rule does encourage drivers to try to qualify higher, not only for better chance at podium but also for a few extra points that can be a difference!
