Formulating with Salicylic Acid; DIY cream for Acne and large pores

Hello every one
In this video I will how you how to formulate with Salicylic acid to create a velvety cream that has very very light feeling and is great for Acne, black heads, large pores and excess oil
I put formulation in the middle ( almost at the end ) of the video so you can save it for yourself by snapshot 😉
The ingredients you will need is as below:
DW ( distilled water )
Glycerin
Propanediol
DL- Panthenol
Allantoin
cetyl alcohol
squalane
silicon copolymer
Glyceryl Stearate
Polawax
LGP

Salicylic acid

Thank you for your effort ♥️ I have some questions I hope you reply, 1- How to know the stable pH for each ingredient as I have known that it differs from the ingredients’ pH itself, Is there a trusted source or so? 2- I have panthenol in a liquid form so if I added it in the water phase and did the same steps will it be okay, right? 3- Is there a specific time and angle for mixing? 4- What is the best form for using salicylic acid? Cream or serum? and with a facial wash containing salicylic acid too or would it be too much for the skin barrier? 5- Is it better to use this product on skin having black heads and pimples already so I can measure its efficiency or it won’t be effective and I have to get rid of them by doing a facial session for example? 6- How did you measure the temperature on the beakers while they are covered with Al. foil? Hi Nouran, thanks for reaching out, Let me answer your questions one by one: 1- you can find stable PH for each ingredient from your ingredient supplier i mostly check : lotioncrafter ( lotioncrafter.com/) if you dont buy from them no worries you can still check all ingredients and they are really reliable, 2-you can use Panthenol in liquid in same percentage or you can use more ( i found liquid form even in same percentage has perfect effect 3-there is no specific time for mixing , its depend on the texture that you like to have, when you reach there , you can stop mixing and for dry powders mix till you will have clear solution 4- it depends on skin type and sebum, i had great experience with face wash and cream gel with SA ( i have combination skin 😉)

Sorry i wanted to ask you what Batch Size did you use for this recipe.

First off, great video showing how to dissolve SA... Super helpful, but a little confused by your measurements as it relates to the percentages you are using and the reading of your scale. I fully understand how to make formulations based on percentages but I can't follow the weights you're using. For example, you say you're using.5% Allantoin and your scale reads 1.08g which would suggest you're making a ~200g batch of lotion. However, when adding Panthenol at "2%" your scale reads around 1.03g+ but if you're in fact making a 200g recipe that would require 4g of Panthenol not 1.03g+ you're using (at 1g+ it would be a ~50 gram recipe). So again, just a little confused why the numbers aren't adding up. Perhaps it's because you start with negative weights vs taring your scale? Please confirm the batch size you were making ad perhaps that will help? Thank you, and please note I'm only asking for clarification, NOT criticizing in any way.

Yes it can, but percentage are different. I am much more convenient with PG, but you can use propanediol instead

why did you measure the pH before adding the preservative? should I measure it again after adding it or it has no effect on pH?

Its depend on your preservative For LGP i prefer mostly for Acidic formulations to measure PH before preservative And LGP dose not effect in final PH

@@sanologygroup5703 okay thank you I tried to dissolved 5 g of salicylic acid in 20 ml mono propylene glycol and it gave me a clear solution ! so the ratio is 1 : 4 not 1 : 9 ! is it okay? or it may cause a problem later?
