For me too--My Dad owned the old Snack Bar. Reference Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, The Witch Doctor and Purple People Eater which should give you some idea of how long ago these memories extend). My Uncle owned the Palace Bar and put me to work there one summer (in the mornings cleaning up) and my Granddad owned the Capitol Theatre and the Drive Inn too. I saw many a great kid's kind of movies there which was my reference to Old Yeller. He took one of those black and white pictures of Shep too. It was because of him I got to meet Audey Murphy (the movies To Hell and Back) but was too young at the time to know who he was! Amazing times!! 😁🤩

Lucky you! I was born there but moved to Houston after second grade, But I was lucky enough to come back in the summertime to work just before high school. That was my reference to the fast cars and country roads. There was one kid who had an old Studebaker and another who had a fairly new GTO. Those two guys gave me my first experience, in both cases, of going well over 100 MPH. I don't want to exaggerate but I seem to remember 130 to 140 MPH. Crazy kids!! Sometimes when I look back over my life it is hard to believe, I am still alive today!! LOL
