The half mile was beautiful. Your virtual tour has me wanting to visit the fort in person. Thanks for your interest in our roots. Keep on keepin' on.

The original fort is most definitely not still standing. lol What is there now is a modern-made fake fort that is not even in the same spot as the original fort.

I went there when I was In the 5th grade that’s been almost 50 years ago looks like I remember I think I will go back in the spring

When we were there the walls were just a stone's throw from the river and the river seemed narrow with a very tall hill on the other side...50 years makes a big difference!

The walls, like a 4 foot high square foundation, you are talking about were not any part of the original fort made by the pioneers. The original fort is gone. But that does mark the spot of the original fort. That stone foundation was erected by one of the local DAR chapters.

Thanks for the walk. I enjoy living history exhibits, so this , along with the Shaker Village walk were great to watch.

I’m really glad you enjoyed them. I know some people would rather see walks in big cities but I really enjoy this type of walk as well

Honestly if you just keep spamming everyone with the same messages it has no meaning. Be genuine.

My husband and I took our four children out to the original site before they built the replica fort...this was about 50 years ago. There were just stone short walks with some markers right next to the Kentucky River. I've always wanted to go back and see the fort they built.😊

@BitofaWander thank you I love things like that I'm frome eastern Kentucky a little place called little sinking and like the name the water disappeared and than about 2 mile down stream it shoes back up but there is a spot where you can see it under ground at a rock house with a stone bridge to cross to see it. Loved your video

Folks, the fort structure that is being shown in this video is not, I repeat NOT, the original Fort Boonesborough that existed in the late 1700s. The original fort has long since decayed into non-existence. It was, after all, constructed of wooden logs. Wood doesn't stand the test of time. The original fort was also right on the banks of the Kentucky River, not 300 yards walk up a hill into the woods. Maybe this summer I will make a video of the actual place where the original fort structure stood and where archaeologists have made digs to gather artifacts. I live in Winchester, KY which is a quick 15 minute drive northeast of the park.
