@@CarissaConti Yes!....back in 2016 when I lived in Delray Beach...as for DJ Dimsa, I'm a House Head from NJ and he's one of my top 5 Deep House music DJ's. His mixes are so soothing & soulful. Thank you again for the video & music, it conjured up many beautiful memories.
@CarissaConti3 жыл бұрын
@@mikedavis9159 That is just wild, seriously. Because I had like 15 or so DJ Dimsa mixes to choose from, and I scrolled through each, one by one, to see which one was the best in terms of not only matching the scene/vibe of this area, but which was also the most decent music-wise all the way through. Most of them had parts that were okay, but then parts that I didn't like. So it came down to this mix in terms of being the most fitting, vibe-wise, and being the most consistently enjoyable to listen to all the way through. But that's awesome that my vid was able to so accurately duplicate your experience! The only way it could have been more perfect was if it was in the evening!

Love the music selections. @ 6:55...that last second right lane suicide merge before entering the Henry E. Kinney tunnel...so many tourists ready to collide into your passenger side door. @ 9:53..on the left is the old Searstown Mall. I believe that was one of the first malls in Ft. Lauderdale. I used to live a couple blocks from there and even my mother had shopped there when she was just a kid. @ 18:35...the Mai Kai. Oakland and Federal is where I spent a huge amount of time.
@CarissaConti6 жыл бұрын
That lane merge was downright polite and smooth compared to things I've seen or experienced when driving down here. It's the whole reason I even have a front and rear camera system to begin with - "cover my ass" in the event my luck in dodging endless near collisions eventually runs out or my lightning fast reflexes is no longer enough. I've been experiencing very severe intermittent issues with people suddenly jerking their wheels and attempting to quickly wedge their car in front of me out of nowhere, last second, but to the point where they're totally going to hit me like I'm not even there, so I have to jam on my brakes right down to the floor to get my car to stop, hard and fast and prevent the collision. If it just happened once...fine. Bad random driver. But this has happened literally over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over. To say it's angersome is putting it mildly. It's rage inducing, and I've had to hold myself back from getting out of the vehicle and confronting the idiot drivers in question and turning things into a road rage situation, because you never know how that could end. So yeah, the lane merge seen in this vid didn't even register on my radar because of the level of lane "merges" I myself have repeatedly had to dodge.

@CarissaConti4 жыл бұрын
Well, if you click on the "Sunrise Boulevard" time stamp (00:10:04), that'll bring you to the biggest (and only real) traffic crunch of the whole vid. It extends past the 00:13:30 mark, and that's with the red light stops removed. That particular stretch of road always has a crunch going on since it's one of the two main funnels to Fort Lauderdale Beach, and I definitely remember this particular day it was aggravating. But as far as the rest of the ride goes, you're right, it is pretty minimal. Guess I lucked out.

Hollywood is like a 3rd world country. The beach is beautiful, but that’s pretty much it. I’m from and grew up in Hollywood Fl now live in Orlando. It seems like Hollywood is not getting any better. So much scum of the earth people. Last time we were there we pulled into a gas station off US 1 to get some gas and were harassed by gypsies demanding us to give them money.

@faithrada5 жыл бұрын
Palm Beach! Ft Lauderdale is too busy, built up, and crowded.
@CarissaConti5 жыл бұрын
Both. :) That's why I love living in Boca, which is the furthest south Palm Beach County city, right on the border with Broward. We live in PBC which is more calm and peaceful, but still with close proximity to Broward. So whenever we get the itch to visit a more urban, happening place Ft. Lauderdale is only 17 miles south, Hollywood 20-25. Gotta have balance. I wouldn't want Broward all the time, but I also don't want PBC all the time either.

Ft Lauderdale has super aggressive drivers and its $4/hr to park at their beach (with dark, hard, course sand). Parts of the city are nice looking buildings but the people are so rude and its so overpriced its not worth it.
@CarissaConti3 жыл бұрын
What's crazy is when I first moved to Fort Lauderdale in 2002 (lived there until 2004) parking was completely free at the beach on the A1A! Just....wow, remembering back on that. No meters. And the sand was nice, not dark and coarse. It was nice, I used to go there all the time. Sounds like it's really changed. I haven't been there in ages.
@pepitoarmendes65662 жыл бұрын
i can help with that, the reason why people are so rude now is because they come from new york and points north, i lived in this area from 1969 to 1981 and have gone every year until 2016, it used to be heaven on earth, but like many good things, they eventually get spoiled by people who dont appreciate beauty and good manners, shame!!
