Hi Amie. The architecture style is Colonial style. This fort has a historical value in a semse that they managed to prevent English Navy from coming in further inland...the victory gave inpiration for the national anthem to be born. Star shaped fortress, is nothing new and serves to utilize for the angels of canons in pretty much all directions. It is interesting to walk around the top of the star shape and the inside the houses where the soldiers stayed in. Brits did arrive at the entrance port but this fort held it back from entering further inland. From my understanding...this made the Brit's captain to withdraw and reroute their plan. Fort McHenry was a vital battle ground for America. Also, inspired the National Anthem lyrics to be born. The video segment they presented, should of been at the beginning of my video but knowing most people, it would bored them so I left it at the end. Yes, that was my uncle. He seemed to enjoy the fort and the history. I believe they are State funded. Anything they make from the public is extra. It's a wonderful place to explore and I like that there were hardly much people there to roam around in. Hopefully you can visit and have your version and do a better job, then have yourself crabcakes and 🍺. I am sure I missed something. It's a fun place. Thank you so much for your time, Mike.
