Fort of kinnaur || Labrang fort || Himachal Pradesh

Labrang fort is one of the famous ancient monument of kinnaur. It is situated on a dominating height in village Labrang. It is one of the highest forts in kinnaur. The fort had eight storeys now the fort has been renovated in the year 2014 and now its 6 storey. The main fort rest on approximately 25 feet stone base. The date of fort is not known . In this video I have tried to uncover some facts about Labrang fort.
We don’t know the actual facts about Labrang fort but on the basis of its architecture we could analyse few things about it.
People of Labrang village have faith in gods of this fort. Everyday they light lamp and pray .
There are two festivals celebrated in village when all villagers goes to the fort in their traditional attire and does traditional dance form(kayang)

Mystery still unsolved, I expected to come to some historical factual conclusion. Thanks to the people who contributed for rennovation of this historic fort. I too have visited this fort up to forth or fifth floor when it was in deterioting condition. Fort has strategic importance since it was built that's why in Indian Army map Labrang village is mentioned. Like other fortresses it has underground way to source of water located neaby. Whereas the answer of the question who contructed it, we have no writen evidence and old people attribute it's construction to Pandavas which is not true. We don't have any written history, so it's very difficult to come to true conclusion but we may find some reliable proof if any from State chronology of Rampur Bushair. Video is worth watching. Keep it up. Kudos to your.

Very well investigated video n very much informative.The fort seems to built-in later ancient - medieval era, when the princes became over greedy for territorial integrity (as accurately said Thakkars) they may be spread over to the remote areas at that time when our boundaries was upto Tibet .The architecture of fort seems to influenced from beautiful mixture of Pagoda style + hill architecture style with Tibetan touch, constructed for protection from invaders. Kamru fort and Labrang fort having similarities in architecture tells the same timeline of it's existence, but it is difficult to guess from how many years they are standing or under whose reign they are constructed. Wether under ancient Kinnauri local people or under Bushahar dynasty's kings like Chhatr Singh - Kehri Singh. Having these heritage, it is our responsibility to find accurate data, responsibility to preserve it with every possible efforts. Great video Namita G, very appreciable, this remembers and realises to our responsibilities.🙂🙂👌✌️
