Fort Walton Beach - The Real Streets 2021

This ain’t no Disneyland fool. Most the time when you think about Fort Walton Beach I might see yourself near beach houses or a nice little community. But like any city of size it’s going to have hoods. We try to find the hood and worst parts to give you a realistic understanding of what the average person here is living not just I’m on the beach but in the neighborhoods.

This is where I started at 17 on my own. Got my first apartment on Wright Ave been homeless had ups and downs tattoos and walked every where I could bought my first car here on my own, graduated school here on my own and wouldn't trade it for nothin.. 850 💪

I used to live in Fort Walton Bch I have not been back in quite awhile. I know I lived off of Racetrack Rd. A friend told me I wouldn't recognize it now. I guess I should go check it out. One road we would drive down a lot was Beal Parkway and the other street was Eglin Parkway On the other side of the base was Niceville. Those are the places I remember.

Was born in Ft. Walton in 1958 and lived there until I moved to Pensacola in1986. The trailer park you showed off Racetrack Road was there when I was a little girl. All of the nice houses around the trailer park areas are newer and just built around them hence the variations in housing. Ft. Walton is in Okaloosa County not Walton as the woman in the video states.

I'm a Fort Walton Beach 3rd generation native. You went through Shalimar but you went no where near Lake Lorraine or any of the nice neighborhoods in Shalimar, like Country Club All you did was go through some lower class neighborhoods, but definitely not the "Hood". We have streets where people are camping out in tents by the streets.
