I'll tell you a story. Few weeks ago i found your video about Knight 4000, and as a Knight Rider fan i watched it. Today i skipped through it, and i remembered my fascination for Pontiac Banshee. I've been looking at a few videos about Banshee and i landed on this one. I was surprised when i saw that this one is from the same guy who uploaded Knight 4000 video. I went full circle. It's also a nice coincidence that Dodge Stealth is just before Pontiac Banshee in this video, as Stealth was a base car used for Knight 4000, which was inspired by Banshee.

I love that RX-7! I remember seeing them new on the dealer's lots and fell in love. I waited a year or so and traded my '91 MX-5 (GREAT car as well!) for a brand new '94 FD in April of 1995 with it having just 9 miles on the odometer. This was one of my very happy memorable car moments in my life. I still own it today and now it's almost considered a classic. Damn, I'm gettin' old fast! heh

Pontiac introduced things 10 years ahead of time. We don't give the brand enough credit. They introduced heads up display and GPS that alerts you with cars on the road. Screw Tesla, pontiac had this in 1992.

That FD RX-7 😍. The Banshee would totally fit in with 2022, Perhaps make the lines a little more rigid but nobody would know the difference that it was a 30 year old car. That blue Dodge stuff is a beauty, Back in the nineties when I was a teenager a classmate's mother had a turquoise Stealth.

It's a shame the Pontiac Banshee never made it past the concept phase. I bet it would have influenced the design of cars that came after it. This video left me wondering where the car is more than 25 years later. I hope it sits on display somewhere in the same shape as seen here.

That Pontiac Banshee Concept was first shown in 1986. GM never intended to build it, or anything like it. They just stuck a few pieces of extra plastic on the Firebird and said that was _'inspred by'_ the Banshee, but nothing more. Plus, the placard for the show car showed what waa effectively a hybrid drivetrain, with an electric generator between transmission and driveshaft, but the booth babe never mentioned that during her presentation.

Out of all these cars the RX7 is the only one that could come out today with out question. You can really see how the banshee influenced the Camaro and the Firebird. Just like most concept cars and production models, you have to dial in those tolerances. Now someone should take a firebird and kit it to be closer to the Banshee.

Oh this takes me back! I was 12 when this show was going on. Im pretty sure I actually went to it. I went to the one during the state fair of texas with my dad around that time but im not 100% sure it was this one. Seeing this makes me so nostalgic. Its crazy to think that I can look on Craigslist now and find most of the "everyday" cars you see in this video for like $500. Even the infinity j30. Lol. All these kids on the comment thread that are joking about the cars or the technologies back then need to realize that back then all that was high tech and alot of the things like tire monitors or gps werent everyday technology. Things that are standard on modern cars today were just dreams back then.

Hi, do you know if those are the correct wheels on the blue firebird? I've only read about them in an pointiac dealer brochure. But it had no pictures. I think they look too much like the supposedly exclusive GTA rims. I know I know. The GTA rims are an inch wider, bigger and have flat spokes. And the Trans Am and Formula (option PW7 was mandatory if you ordered the Firehawk conversion) had them in charcoal black.

So you could have 1600 miles a summer for 24 years in style, in a 3.6 Turbo, and you would have made double the inflated MSRP (105,000 in 1993 is 170,000 in today’s money). Yep. @jokerzwild00
@jokerzwild00 3 жыл бұрын
KIFT was a Dodge Stealth with a body kit. They wanted to use a Banshee but Pontiac wouldn't play ball, so they made something that they thought looked close enough. I always thought it looked really janky, the overhangs were way too much and the wheels too small (even by early 90s standards). The body was just too long for the wheelbase. GM was never happy with Knight Rider using a TA. After season 1 they made the show remove all Pontiac references. Apparently they were unhappy with so many customers coming in asking for a KITT. Guess they hated selling cars, all they needed was a little cross promotion. Make an all black Firebird/TA with no decals, tan interior and the black/aluminum wheels, call it the KITT edition and watch them roll out!
