I have done one of Lettuce's puzzles. It was called Dark Bouquet. I wrote down that I really liked the packaging and the canvas bag, and I like the magnet flap although it also took me a bit of time to work it out. As I don't use the box much when puzzling I usually don't mind the small image, but I know it will be an issue for many. I also wrote down that I had to go by rote for the final 100 pieces which were just black. The art was beautiful, truly, but a more varied cut would have cut down the rote work for sure. I wrote that I thought the quality was excellent, but I agree that matte is best. I think this brand is trying to be a boutique high-end brand with quality art, and they have some good ideas, just need some adjustments. I agree, the price point is too high. But then again, I rarely buy new... I'm an op shop and Trade Me girl.

I looked up the Dark Bouquet puzzle and I agree, too much black at the end. Kind of like my picnic blanket background. It's not really all that fun puzzling when you are just trying piece after piece in every spot.

Carrot seeds are specially grown from carrot plants where part of the carrot has been removed, there will be a stalk? and and from there they harvest the seeds. Or do like the rest of us and by seed packs Yesterday I did a Moomin puzzle (from Flame tree), and I was half way through before I realized it was only the std 2 way prong. So if the image and prong variation is well done, you won't notice. Picture, illustration it doesn't matter if I like the image. Schmidt has some really lovely nature pictures. I do think you would enjoy the Trefl Groningen, Netherlands (SKU 29034). They have really shrunk the box this time too.

The nice thing I've found about the Galison fit is that it makes it easy to temporarily display the puzzles on the wall without glue/tape or a frame. Wow I have never heard of this jigsaw puzzle producer even though I live within walking distance of Cornwall Park One Tree Hill or Maungakiekie kia ora from Aotearoa. Boutique jigsaw puzzles are not my thing and I would immediately throw out the cloth bag and seal it in a resealable plastic bag to preserve it from the disastrous impact of time. On the carrot seeds: you eat the root and probably never fully grew the plant that would come to be if you don't pull the carrot from the ground (I know I haven't). I suspect the plant has flowers of some sort that produce seeds. Potato seeds are a thing too. A tuber growing from a plant in the nightshade family (so it belongs to the same group of plants as tomatoes do. I never realized).

@@fortheloveofpuzzles No, you said southern Africa, I was just confused. I think I've heard people get it wrong before. I was in South Africa for my brother's wedding years ago. The duality and effects of apartheid are very much still alive and it's sad. Especially since the political environment isn't that stable either. At the time people were actively speaking against moving there because of it (not that I want to migrate, but still). I'm still kinda sad we couldn't go onto the Table Mountain because of the weather but that's life. I'll probably never go there again (gotta care for our environment, you know). And I didn't look up the carrot seed stuff. My grandfathers had vegetable gardens and so the parents of an ex of mine. I've seen carrot plants grow, just not to the part where they flower. I have to say it's also interesting looking at a sprout plant. I never realised what those looked like before I saw it with my own eyes :D Did you know the Dutch word for carrot (wortel) literally translates to root?

So I had to look up carrot seeds. Gardener Scott on KZbin has a video about collecting carrot seeds. Apparently, above ground, flowers will grow. It takes 2 years from the time you plant them for the flowers to bloom. You have to wait for the bloom to get the seeds from the flowers. The flowers go from this cute tiny white flowers in a bunch to the green fuzzy looking thing when the seeds grow from the flowers. Thanks for sending me down that rabbit hole. 😆😆 I hate that they used only 1 piece shape for the while thing. I don't understand why any puzzle company would do that. Aren't the makers puzzle lovers? Don't they know how unhelpful that is? For the price, I would expect a little more. I guess it is another case of the money being spent on the box and bag. I don't think I can get those here but that isn't an issue because I don't want to frustrate myself. Though points for the fit. I love how well it stays together though that does cause issues when you are done.

2 years to get carrot seeds?!?! Oh wow...interesting! A rabbit hole on carrot seeds - how fitting! 🤣🤣 I don't think all puzzle makers are puzzlers at all - they are just trying to make "products" out of the images/artwork and sale them to make as much profit as possible.
