I love this video!!!!!! It’s so nice to see abstract art/mixed media as it is being made - winding thru ideas that sometimes work and sometimes don’t. Explaining choices as they are being made. Not liking parts and not starting over but trusting the process. I’ve needed to see that for a while. It gives me ideas and more importantly reassures me I’m not doing it wrong. Play away! Seeing you do something that isn’t as successful as you might want or that really pushes you different from the approach you might usually take, gives me, and others, “permission” to do the same. Sometimes I take things too seriously and want everything to “work” but of course life simply isn’t like that. I’m enjoying the 50 Prompts for just that reason (and the fact that lots of colour terrifies me 😉).

Such fun! I have a prompt box and lead prompt challenges in an online group. Each one is drawn blind, we work progressively on our pieces using each new prompt, then allow time for assessing and "tweaking" the final pieces. It's great fun. I LOVE your idea of using deli paper to cut stencils! Much easier and faster than using card stock or something stiffer! Stealing that idea!! Art play is ALWAYS so exciting and stimulating! More videos like this would be super! Thanks for sharing!

These are so much fun. I started cutting up old soft pastel paintings and making collage. The people at Blick suggested a heavy Gloss Medium, wondering if there is much difference between Matte, though I can only glue the back side.

Good question! I usually don't use heavy paper when collaging. Although, I noticed I have heavy gloss medium in the studio. I'll have to give it a try!
