@@killertone The used prices for JCM800s over here in Norway make me wince. Back in the day in the UK you couldn't get rid of them for a long time. That sound is tight yet open. Reminiscent of many DM bands from back in the day, yet still modern.

@@MartinvonBargen Frankly, I'd prefer the reissue if I was in the market for a JCM800 head. I like the addition of the effects loop, and you can do the effects loop cable trick to saturate the power amp with it.

@@AlexRamosDrTaz Deffo. They were very much bare bones when they were released back then. I recently got a TSL 60 and while it's never gonna set the world on fire by itself, it does take pedals incredibly well and the deep control makes chuggy HM-2 stuff sound tighter than hell

That pedal really colors that JCM800 into Majestic Metal Magnificence. One of the best Amps ever made,I had the 2205 (1985) version which I will always regret selling as I paid 550,00 USD all in for head & Matching 1960 Cabinet in Dead Mint Condition in 1986. It had a Bottom End to die for and although I have amassed quite a collection of great amps, That one I rank as one of the best ever made.That pedal is no joke and not a product of trend hysteria. I have Large bins of amazing Pre-Amps and dirt pedals from the last 10 years and have swore off buying anymore, I have however not ruled out Boost pedals and have focused on Modulated Reverb, & Delay in the event that something amazing comes along as I'm venturing back into the Psychedelic somewhat side of Progressive Metal. I have been focusing on pick ups and dialing in my Guitars and am really jonesing for a 26-27" scale 6 string. ESP & LTD's are great Guitars. That 7 sounded great with those pickups and as usual your riffing was tasty and articulate as ever. Great Demo and all I can say is WOW. Fortin does it again. Just proves what a great Amp the '80's JCM800's were and are.I will be on the hunt for one of these pedals.Honorable mention to a pedal I just picked up from a German Manufaktur, The Klirrton Ill Disposed that does similar justice to my EVH lll.Check one out if you haven't already. Happy Trails-

@killertone5 жыл бұрын
Well, it is different from other boosts in that the Saw control is actually frequency selected and not. just an output level. That alone is great for tightening up a loose amp. The Deep and Cut controls allow you to shape it after that frequency selected boost by adding bass or treble back in.

@killertone5 жыл бұрын
I have no idea since I've never seen/heard/used one of those. I can tell you that this is very closely related to the Grind/33 pedals as the Saw control is already frequency selected. Bass and Treble are after that.

The Savage is a OD. It gives you the ability to add some gain to say an amp that is kind of lacking but the tone control and boost is what makes it a killer pedal. Not trying to sell you this pedal in any way shape or form but Its definitely a cool pedal to have in the arsenal.
