Ola playing Architects through a kick-ass overdrive into a mesa amp on a multiscale solar wearing a Decapitated shirt. Just immediately makes your day better!
@ordohereticus34272 жыл бұрын
Ola should generally just demo stuff with a 7 stringer. That way, he can demonstrate how good stuff sounds both on the higher tunings as well as whether they can maintain tight focus on lower ones. He used to do this a lot in his earlier videos to great effect.
@MFKitten2 жыл бұрын
He usually plays a bit of both.
@ordohereticus34272 жыл бұрын
@@MFKitten Certainly in his older videos up to around 2018, where seven stringers were regular alongside six stringers. In the last 2-4 years, it’s been mainly six string work with higher tunings and the lesser frequent seven string appearance. I made a similar comment on his Laney Ironheart 10 Years Later video, a video where he duplicated the same conditions from his first demo in 2012, including the very same baritone 7 string guitar. He appreciated the comment and stated that he’s been more six string oriented in recent years. It’s understandable and even then, his gear overviews and demos are great.

It's a VFE Dragon clone but VFE is no longer in business, so this is the current option. If you go to Peter's website, you can buy the DIY schematics for $4.00 if you want to tackle it. The high and low pass filters are great! Playing live, Josh uses a Kemper and Adam uses a QC, so I wonder if they'd still use the pedal live, or whether they'd model it.
@MrHaggyy2 жыл бұрын
Adam had an OD-808 on his board as well as some time effects in 2019. As they sometimes get profiles from Nolly or gear up with real Amps for big shows i would assume the pedal is not modded into.

I think a lot of people underestimate how seriously hot the output of this pedal is. I think 2 o’clock is a good starting point if you have the gain at zero. Otherwise if it’s wide open you’re really slamming the shit out of the front end and getting mush/oversaturation.

Hi Ola, awesome review. If you're up to suggestions, I think many of us would love to see a shootout of all the major ODs, with your taste in settings, compared thru multiple mediums, like into the badlander, maybe a JCM, 6505+, maybe something solid state and into amp sims. Many of us don't have access to a badlander and are curious what it sounds like through different rigs like we may have at home. You've got the gear! Are you up to the challenge?!

I too like my squelching highs. Low and High Pass Filters in a Boost pedal is right on time. Great idea. Instant tightness. I have a Laboga Mr.Hector that is very dry and a bit shrill and then some Orange amps that go the other way. Might just be the Ticket. This stacked with other pedals that play nice may be very sweet indeed. Yup.

@metalgear742 жыл бұрын
With the hpf/lpf system you should start with the hpf(left) all the way counter/7:00 and the lpf(right) at max/5:00. From there choose your gain and level then roll-off the filters as little or as much as needed. You may need to compensate level more or less depending on how much filtering is applied. In other words, if you don't apply much filtering you might need to back the level down a bit. If you go for screamer-like filtering you might need to run the pedal's level at max.
@Paul_Lenard_Ewing2 жыл бұрын
I have the original amp tamer the Pro Tone Attack. It has a Ibanez TS (on steroids) and a high pass filter with 5 presets. The Tempest strikes me as much more impressive. Having both a high pass ad a low pass filter that is variable is ideal. I like many players use a combo sized rig and leave my amp set clean and use pedals. I find that such pedals can be used on both Fuzz and OD pedals and are pure magic. Especially cool if you stack these filter drives on Fuzz already stacked on an OD.
