A suitcase with wheels? Well, Honda has been there and done that in the 80s with the Motocompo, but it never caught on. Now, having Bean there and done that with its spiritual successor - the Motocompacto - we find out if the concept will fare any differently this time around.

Don't forget the sheer irony of filming this in a country where this isn't available for sale. The few who import it charge around a 200% mark-up and even at stock USD price where it IS available it's outperformed and out compacted by $300 traditional e-scooter offerings. The only thing this has going for it is Japanese nostalgia and marketing. As someone who has spent half their life both on two wheels and in Japan, this is hilarious predation on the part of Honda and the uploader.

As a Canadian, all the best sit-coms we saw were British, before the Americans remade them. Robins Nest became Threes Company, Steptoe, and Son remade as Sanford and Son, and many more. The British versions were usually way funnier. 😂✌️🍁. Edit: Actually, I think it was Man About the House that became Threes Company. Funny shows. British humour kills

In Australia a lot of people work in the inner city where there's no parking, but at the same time we all live in the suburbs which aren't served by public transport. So a lot of people drive to the train/bus/ferry station, but then you get to the inner city where the public transport again falls apart, with a choice between a 20 minute wait for a transfer bus or a 2km+ walk (often over steep hills). If last mile transport makes sense anywhere, it's here.

Although i don't want to buy one i am so happy that Honda revived this idea and glad it exists. Your Video was excellent, as Mr bean you managed to convey the features, pros cons and limitations all while barely uttering a handful of words. Well done!

9:11 Is it me... Or are people REALLY over looking that no cuts, ad embedded, informative, humorous, ~3min SINGLE SHOT at the very end? It felt so natural yet I'm pretty sure the planning had to be insane.

Last mile transport solutions make perfect sense as a concept: A taxi from my house to the next city is about 20 minutes. The train is about 20 minutes. But it's 40 minutes walk to get to the train station. Another 30 minutes at the other end. The train is the best transport solution, but if you have stops everywhere then it's too slow, like buses. Infrequent stops and it's too inconvenient, like 30-40 minutes walk at each end. Use something like this and you arrive 50 minutes sooner and not sweaty. THAT is the use case.

@HugEBear42 Ай бұрын
somewhat the issue though. its great in CONCEPT. forget to charge it or take that train to somewhere you cant charge and it may be an issue. If it does catch on then you have the same issue we have now with electric scooters clogging up sidewalks and becoming hazards. Regulate the size and speed of them and they go back to being no quicker than walking. its a solution to a question no one asked yet. most cities need to fix or work out their public transport before something like this is an issue, and for Japan that has sorted its public transport, its a non issue.

If it takes more than 15 minutes to walk there, it's last mileS transport, not last mile.

Problem is, there's nothing this can do a brompton folding bike wouldn't do better.. At the same price no less for the non electric brompton.

I use a Onewheel pint as a last mile solution. It’s cheaper, faster, smaller, longer range, and slightly less dorky. Doesn’t hold my baguettes though 😢
