Dunlop rules the tour bike industry! Been riding your bikes since I was 16 YRS OLD and now 60 yrs old! Have tired multiple tires on multiple different MOTORCYCLES I've own! Dunlop has ALWAYS out lasted in miles, most dependable tires I've ridden on, in multiple different climate settings from AZ heat to ND freezing cold! Been in tons of rain from coast to coast and 2/3 of Canada! This newer motorcycle and first t ever pulling a camper trailer in( Time Out Deluxe loaded weighing in at 650lbs behind my motorcycle 2 up at 1300) easily has been from d to west then ND to Maine and down into thru Virginia! Total of right around 11,000 miles on original tires! Yes rear when pulling trailer is a 2 to 1 ratio to the front tire! I can really live with THAT! Years riding motorcycles hell very happy to get over 7k per tire! Dunlop tires has ALWAYS gotten my bikes over 10k no matter what the conditions were! Hate my opinion that's fine! Just be safe and ALWAYS inspect your tires

I've switched to Bridgestone S22 hypersport tires. They're absolutely amazing, I never had the feeling yet of losing traction. I couldn't try them yet on cold weather (~0-5°C). I currently ride a 2005 Yamaha Roadstar (an 800 lb cruiser), and since 1973 (yeah, I'm getting old, lol, but I still ride regularly) I've ridden on many different street bikes, and of course, many different types of street tires. All that ^^^ to say that 6 months ago, I replaced my Metzler 888's (totally worn out) with Michelin Commander 3's . I can sum up the difference in one word ... WOWZA !! Best motorcycle tires I've ever encountered. Like Ryan said, Michelin figured out how to give street bikers "the best of both worlds" re: long-lasting mileage, and grippiness. The Commander 3's give me so much confidence gripping the road when negotiating tight corners in the rain, and braking. These are solid AWESOME street tires. If you are thinking about a new set of tires, look no further than Commander 3's. You will not regret it. My Roadstar handles like a different (much better !) bike on these new Michelin's. They are worth every penny.

how are the Commander III's holding up? I just bought a 2017 Fat Boy S that has a fresh set of Commander III's installed. I have always used Soft, sporty tires on my cruisers, just because I ride them hard and aggressive. But I also ride a lot and in all weather, so the soft rubber, while good at cornering and speed, it was lacking in wet weather and milage. Do you think you can test, for us to watch, mix settings? I would love to watch Bridgestone S22 Hypersport in the front (possibly the best dry+wet tyre in the market for braking and turning, according to some magazine tests) and Michelin Road 5, Dunlop Roadsport 2/SmartRoad 3 or Continental Road Attack 3 in the back. They all seem to be excellent combinations for touring/sport bikes for moderate/safe driving but it would be great to have these combinations reviewed. No one has ever done this before! You could be that someone, because someone else will be for sure! The amount of KZbin videos could be great in numbers and content itself! Think about it and keep up with the good work!

Even rode them through a really heavy storm around 2-4c and even in the cold their wet weather performance is fantastic. It was actually that storm that really sold me on them. I’d had a couple of bike with Dunlop road smarts and the wet and cold was always their Achilles. Actually even on my commuter scooter I hated the Dunlop scoot smarts in the wet

In my experience, the Pilot 5s aren't as good as the older models and don't get the long life they used to. They get squirmy and wear poorly with age. I switched to the Battlax T31 two years ago and although they ride a little rougher and might not be as good in rain, they cost 30% less than the Michelins, they corner as well and have a longer life. I have over 10 000 aggressive kilometers (I wear my tires evenly almost to the edges) on my set of T31s and they have little to no wear.
