Update: Since releasing this they removed the delay on double editing, which makes it INSANELY good. The only issue is you can't use it in tournaments. I'm not sure if this is 100% intentional, but it more than likely is.

I think the problem with this is that it edits faster than even a pro can edit because it skips the actual part where you have to go into the edit and select tiles. I think most players will use this because they aren’t as good, but if someone masters this I think they could be dangerous.

Yeah but it limits the amount of edits you can do like you cant do bottom corner edits or window edits on the side and it is very hard to edit ramps how you want. Pros wont use this setting nor will the vast majority of players. You will be much more skilled if you just learn to edit properly.

Downsides to this, you can’t edit more than one tile on a floor, can’t edit stairs sideways, and can’t edit side windows on walls so your only consistent peak is peanut butters, resets also need to be held

I think either way this setting is outclassed by someone who’s good at normal editing. Even if it’s “instant”, the time it takes to hold down the buttons is definitely enough time for a pro to already be finished. It’ll help people yeah, but the downsides are probably enough to keep it from making it too unfair.

​@@AuzieOnSwitch No, simple editing is much faster than normal editing, there is no way you could edit faster with normal editing than just pressing 1 button. When you use normal editing you have to press 1 button + select tiles (and lastly press another button if you have confirm on release enabled) but you lose a lot of possible edits so if you have experience, you will feel limited using simple edit.

Here's a suggestion to make it better: You can tap your edit button to do normal edit mode, hold the edit button to do the simple edit, there will also be a setting which switches the edit types around (tap for simple, hold for normal)

It's also great for controller players with build pro controls, as our bind for editing has a delay as well, so the simple edits option is a real lifesaver for us controller players who only have our hands to play the game. Whereas with keyboard players they have their entire arms to be able to play.

I still think it would be a massive pain to use if you’re any good at editing. For it to be usable you have to assume that it will always give you the edit that you want, which will probably be especially unlikely with wide/far edits

I have been garbage at building ever since it evolved past the standard ramp floor wall push, so when i heard about this feature, i decided to go and test it out in creative box fights and some BR too, it was actually helping me win a few battles and saved me from quite a few shots that would've ended me, i expected it to be pretty bad, but it's pretty good, and now i can finally edit without cocking up a ton, so I'm quite happy with it!

It's useful for people who play casually because it can help them have more fun even when their opponent is much better. It also makes it easier for switch players.

If you set your edit hold time to the minimum, most of these problems are solved, including resetting. I was able to hit a triple edit because I have mine on the lowest setting.

From my experience the delay isn’t bad. The primary issue I have is edits with cones and stairs, and the resets being so slow . If stair and cone edits weren’t so clunky and didn’t mess up so much, and the resets were as fast as normal resetting , I’d definitely use this setting over normal ones . I’m on controller btw so the experience may be different for kbm players

It's not always about if you're good or bad , your set-up has a lot to do with it , you can be good on controller but still limited because of having to drag an edit while having crosshair placement, just like quick weapon this helps controller players a ton, now fighting is just the focus of you already know how to build but struggle with precise edits because of console and controller

It's definitely a lot easier for your average controller players but cumbersome in odd ways. Walls aren't too bad but looking down at ramps can either flip the ramp or cut it in half, and cones feel really weird too. I think the main issue is that without the 3x3 grid as a reference you're relying on looking at that center icon changing and not where your cross hair is placed, and even then the difference between the cross hair position on some of these edits isn't quite clear.

Im not a newer player, I started in chapter 1 season 4 and I've just never been fond of building but I'm also not a fan of zero build as being able to build cover or building up hills is easier than finding a path or finding cover.
