as someone who spectates a lot of fighting games this is a very common thing for commentators to do. Just because someone hits some crazy setup in a scramble doesn't mean they meant to do that, but its your job as the commentator ,it doesn't matter if they meant to do it nor not, is to make every player seem as good and smart as possible. Even the player completely flubs you have to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they probably doing something really smart and just missimputed.

in most cases its on purpose, they probably dont think about it but its still something they do subconsciously just from playing the game so much. there are definitely moments where its clear they didnt mean to do something and it just worked out though.

The reality is that after a long time playing most of it becomes 2nd nature and Pro's don't think about it. I always like to think about it in 2 ways: - - They thought about it and did a sick play, which is interesting -They just did something and it worked, which is also interesting Regardless of which it is, the viewer can still learn something sick to put into their gameplay 😁
