A well preserved fort/palace which is rare in India!Indian govt MUST devote more funds to archeological dept for upkeep of our heritage sites & this in turn will draw more tourists towards India.

Excellent tribute to great forts and history by DD..hats off! With all due respect to the 25 forts in this series, bit surprised that RAIGAD is missing! It was not only capital of Shivaji Maharaj, but was also called Gibraltar of East due to its impregnability. Would really appreciate an episode on RAIGAD.

Abhijit Chaudhari every fort has it's own specifics. This fort...was never attacked. Agra and Delhi forts were the center of power and were designed that way. They were studded with precious stones which alas have been lost.

Abhijit Chaudhari The red fort of Delhi and Agra were even more beautiful and magnificent. Sadly it has been lost due to repeated attacks by invaders and also due to lack of maintenance. Hope one day each and every monument in India will be restored to its original state by the government...
