Fortune Lady in Master Duel | How far can it go?

Fortune Lady is my favorite deck back in Duel Links!. I even built a Fortune Lady deck when first coming to Master Duel 🤣 You can add Witchcrafter Golem Aruru or Magician's Left Hand for extra layers of protection. Magicalized Fusion to go into Quintet Magician and nuke the opponent's board is nice too. Also great content, keep 'em coming.

Those are all great options, but I didn't want to put in too much stuff in and focused on a pure build because I really enjoy the playstyle of Fortune Ladies and I found that they don't really need that much protection, but rather consistency and that problem is pretty much solved after adding one for one in the deck.

Fortune ladies is my favorite archetype and when I was researching on how to make the most viable decklist I stumbled upon the Tzolkin variant. Playing that quickly became frustrating since either your combo works or you lose. And it was more about abusing the good FL cards. You however showed me that pure FL, while not being viable at all, is still way more fun which you have my gratitude for.

@@thecursemyname Now try to make Fortune Fairy. :P The best I've gotten is a funny way to get Fortune Lady Every out and as a Link Monster engine. I also play Quintent Magician in the deck with a single Magicalized Fusion because it's really easy to get 5 different spellcasters in the GY or on the field with that deck. xD And even easier to get 5 overall, if you don't care about the extra effect. They also play Magician's Restage so I can revive the lower fairies and if my opponent destroys the cards, I get an easy search into my Left / Right arm of the Spellcaster for some once-per-turn negation. In my Fortune Lady deck I made (I have one too, but not complete because of all the SR's they need) I have Silent Magician in there since they can draw a lot, get her attack up, she's a spellcaster as well, can activate the level 1's effect, and if destroyed, you get a 4500 beatstick unaffected by spell cards. xD Also, having a draw in DC makes the board look hilarious as it falls apart.

Besides, Fortune Fairies, as much as I love them, are very RNG dependent and, well, aren't even that good to balance out the luck you need for them to work well. xD Take your time, completely. Although you should have all, or most, of hte pieces for a deck already considering I saw 14 copies of some of those Fortune Ladies lol

I grind to Platinum on Fortune Ladies each season, then do train OTK to cruise to diamond. I don't care how bad the archetype is. I love the fuck out of Fortune Ladies and it's an incredibly reliable engine. Also one very IMPORTANT thing about running a Fortune Lady Fire. Her effect only activates if she is special summoned in ATTACK mode specifically by another fortune lady. Woe has been my days of summoning her in defense to not see any form of effect pop occur. Remember this, and dont keep her on the field any longer than is necessary, or she merely becomes target fodder for your opponent to swing into. Synchro/XYZ, or link her into something better after she has done her job.

Yeah, not sure why the attack possition restriction is there on fortune lady fire when she already has the restriction of having to be summoned by a fortune lady card to activate the eff. Kinda annoying xD

@thecursemyname Indeed. But however good or bad our archetype may be we will always use it, because it's fun. Another good card to run in there is a Forbidden Droplet, it can help prevent board wipes, or be used to ensure you can swing for game without any kickback. Especially since opponents may not play anything in reaction to it, Forbidden Droplet has come in clutch in games I definitely should not have ever won.

Lezgoo! Fortune Lady is by far my favourite bad deck ever! Madolche, Lunalights,Nekroz,Spyral and Tear are my favourite good decks.

Probably not lol, though can't fault you for trying Every just doesn't have enough immediate impact to be good, the synchro lock really limits what the deck can do, the deck dies to any disruption, Past requires banishing 2 to get into every causing the card loss to defeat the point of drawing 2, and ultimately even if you draw the entire deck, there's nothing you really want to draw into since it has so few starters/extenders. You can still get lucky wins off secret village, but it's kind of an awkward mess lacking synergy. If I had any additions I'd say Magicians' souls since you're playing earth anyway and it's a free special summon + card draw off your continuous spell once it's no longer useful. Once Illusion of Chaos is added to Master Duel I'd use that and drop the Earth.

this could be optimized so much by simply adding linkuriboh and almiraj so that the normal summons of light is still worth something. Same goes for the spell one for one which specials light

I like this version a lot; I played fortune ladies a lot, but my favorite variant (which this actually comes close to, at least in terms of draws) used Tidal, which probably won't ever get unbanned. If you're gonna use spellbooks anyway, I'd consider trying to fit in spellbook of life which is a crazy damage boost making even low leveled ladies a threat, but it might just be too slow with the current yugioh. Nice deck though, really enjoyed this and makes me nostalgic to mess with my own fortune ladies.

I just focused on draw power so I didn't want to put any other sbelbooks in the deck, and the way spelbook of knowledge interacts with fortune lady light is good enough for me to not play a bigger spelbook engine.

Spellbook of life can be good but the issue is how it raises a Fortune Ladie's level. It's definitely a huge double-dip of damage if you use it on a Fortune Lady dark and toss another dark out of the GY, getting to high levels of damage. The issue with it is that generally even with FL dark you maybe want to proc her effect once and then go into a Synchro/XYZ/Link play with her immediately for more survivability or an omninegate. She's usually one of my go to's for Borreload to lock the enemy down for a turn. Fortune Lady Past is a great Synchro playmaker, but in the chance you don't need to synchro and just need damage to win it, she can raise the level of a Fortune Lady, and thus increase their damage output for a turn if swinging for the kill. It's good to use on Dark or Every for a sweet 4800 beater if your opponent is open, or if you can overkill for game. Though Fortune Ladies mostly need consistency more than anything but forbidden droplet can also really turn games in your favor, and I've had huge amounts of luck against even decks like Tearlaments, being able to barely scrape a win with Fortune Ladies against them.

Thing is i stopped playing around time Pendulum and Link hit the game, so I have no idea how to make fortune ladies adapt to it. Got any advice?

The pure build I'm playing is definitely not suitable for competition because it can brick a lot and I haven't really tried to adapt it for competitve play since I enjoy it more to build decks like this for fun and see what I can do with more pure builds. Sorry for not being able to help.

I still have some other decks planed for future videos, but Red-Eyes fits in the category of decks I play in the series so it's not out of the question. And I usually build the decks as pure as possible for them to still be playable so there definitelly won't be just 5 cards of the archetype :)

Bro I need some advice. New as fuck to yugioh as far as playing it. I’ve seen 5ds and the first anime and I just spent like hella long grabbing all the resources I needed to build the deck from this video since the only cards I even remembered were the fortune ladies. Swapping decks isn’t an option for me after the time I put it so I need to know how to improve in general at the game while running this I guess…preciate anyone who helps

My advice to get better at the game is to play as much as you can. You'll make mistakes and can learn from them, see what works and what doesn't then try getting cards that fit your playstyle better and experiment with them. And keep in mind this is not a top tier deck so you'll probably loose a lot, but the most important thing is to have fun 🙂

I do find it weird that Fortun Lady Every has no animation. Still a fun deck to play in the right hands it can take on some meta decks but won't win all the time. This year is going to be terrible as we all know spright is coming to master duel sooner or later. Hopefully they hurt the deck fast because it is going to make it impossible for anyone to play.

Well, the game plan is pretty simple: get Fortune Lady Every on the field as soon as possible and keep her there, and if you can, set up one of the 2 floodgate field spells. And the deck runs enough draw cards, searchers and special summon cards to make that as easy as possible :)

@@nurirei4273 Live Twins can definitely climb well, their endboard is unassuming but formidable. Their main problem is that all of their starters die to a single handtrap, but you can partially solve this problem by splashing a large Unchained core into the deck. Live Twins are consistent enough for you not to worry about bricking on Unchained cards and their synergy is off the charts. Unchained let you extend into the standard Evil Twin combo if your starters gets stopped and can let you otk easier when going second.
